This year we are renting points from a DVC owner at SSR. If we like it, looking into possibly buying there. However, I am unsure how much this would actually cost. As visitors from the UK, who traditionally take 14 nights vacation per year - it will be quite a lot of points. What is the current rate for buying and have heard about paying dues - how does this work and what rate do you pay?

Minimum puchase through DVC is 150 points. As of right now the cost is $98 per point with a an $8 discount, netting a $90 per point. Sometime in March the price is suppose to go up to $101 per point...not sure of any promotions though. Dues I believe are $3.69 per point. Use the points calculator up top to see what you would need for points in any one given year.

Hi Pigby :wave2:

Another UK owner here.

How many points are you thinking of getting? Are you looking for studio accommodation or larger?

We find by "careful" use of points we can make our 150 points go a long way. For example, if we fly in on a Saturday night (when points are expensive, and when we would only be at the resort for a few hours if you come in on the majority of UK flights) w stay elsewhere for the night and then check into our DVC the next morning nice and early. If the room's not ready we head off into the parks :thumbsup2
