New York World's Fair Rides at DL

Does anyone know what rides appeared at the NYC 64-65 Worlds Fair that were then placed in Disneyland?

Not all of this is still here but here is some of what I found

As noted, the Disney-created ride called "it's a small world" was transferred to Disneyland, as was the "Carousel of Progress." The Abraham Lincoln animatronics figure became the centerpiece of the "Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln" Show, but this figure has since been retired for an updated figure. Scenes from the Ford Magic Skyway were used in Disneyland Railroad's Primeval World Diorama and the ride system was improved upon and used for the PeopleMover.


IASW of course is still here
Mr Lincoln saw a major update a few years back, but has been on a hiatus for ???? while they show the film DL 50 magical years
Primeval world can be seen if you take the train all the way around the park
Peoplemover and CoP can only be seen at WDW

Thank you for responding so quickly! Even though I was a very young girl I distinctly remember my visits to the World's Fair. The colors, smells noise and rides all left an indelible mark on my 3 year old psyche.

The first time I visited DisneyWorld I was taken back to an old familiar time and place.....It makes me sooooo happy.

Does anyone else remember the World's Fair?

Mr. Lincoln, Primeval World between Tomorrowland station and Main St. station and Small World. As far as rides go at DL the NY World's Fair sort of worked against the park in the form of new attractions as Walt spent all kinds of time and energy on the WF. Part of the reason the Haunted Mansion was delayed by several years was that Walt wasn't around enough because he was off working on the World's Fair.

Just think, Walt died about a year and a half after the WF so the last few years of his life where he could have been working on DL and future WDW he was working on the non-permanent WF. Before my time but it must have been really neat.

DL's Lincoln actually wasn't at the world's fair to the best of my knowledge. there were actually 2 of them. he was in Disneyland while he was working the world's fair, so Lincoln was bicoastal.

POTC was the last attraction Walt personally worked on (when they opened the MK version, it was on the anniversary of his death). it was initially meant to be a walk through attraction but the transport system developed for IASW made it so they could solve the potential issues of guests lingering inside the attraction.

actually primeval world is part of the Grand Canyon. You start of in the modern Grand Canyon as it is today and then you get to see how it was in the time of the mighty 1960's Dinosaurs!!!

Its cheesy but so much fun if they ever remove this feature I will cry!!!!

I did too but the map doesn't But of course as a kid, I just wanted to see the dinoaurs so half the time only remembered them anyway haha!

I lived in Briarwood Queens until I was 4 years old and went several times to the World's Fair in Flushing Meadows Park! I was 3, just like you. My parents would always ask me what I wanted to do when we were there. My answer was always the same "Small World."

My husband sometimes thinks I am a Disney nut, but IASW is so nostalgic for me. I remember the magic and it is awesome. I know they are updating IASW now, but I hope they don't change it too much. I brought my kids to Disney young, because I wanted them to grow up with the same feeling.

According to Wikipedia the Grand Canyon Diorama was added in 1958, with the Primeval World being added in 1966:

I have a pastel portrait that my Mother had done of me from the World's Fair. It was almost time to go home so I was crying and the artist drew in a single tear in the corner of my eye. I remember sitting in the directors chair while this man tried to cajole me to smile. Bless him..because that portrait is so very dear to me today!
