I've just read that Disney is going to open a Doorway to Dreams store in a shopping center not too far from me (Roosevelt Field Mall in Nassau County, NY).
Do they give any incentives or bonuses for the "grand opening"?
Thanks. - Carl

I can't wait to hear more about this location, too. I've read that it will be 6900 square feet of space...I wonder exactly WHERE this will be located in Roosevelt Field?????

After I posted this, I found another thread about this. I haven't been to Roosevelt Field in a couple of months (I live in North Woodmere), but apparently the store next to the Disney store is vacant, but kind of small. There was some speculation that it would take over the FAO Schwarz store on the 2nd level. I'm in their computer, because I have the Dreams book and a guide; wonder if I'll get notified of the opening?

The new space is supposed to be 6900 square feet...DEFINTELY NOT next to The Disney Store, that's for sure. And as for FAO Schwarz...WHERE IS THAT??? I goto Roosevelt Field a minimum of once a week and I have no clue where that is!!!!!

FAO Schwartz closed a while back I think it was split into Apple computer and pottery Barn Kids. It was on the second floor near macys. IF it is going to be that large I am guessing they may have to put it on the lower level where the post office and the dollar store are, I was there a few weeks ago and don't remember seeing any stores that were vacant that were that large.

Do you think they might go across the street where Comp USA was. That store has been empty a long time. But now I'm thinking they proably will get more guests if they are in the mall. Nevermind. LOL

CompUSA would be big enough, but they are going into the mall for the traffic there.
Many years ago, maybe 1993, I went to my first timeshare presentation, at Roosevelt Field. It was sponsored by the Rank Organization--the British movie company that has the guy hitting the gong at the beginning of the movie. They had a large set-up, with an indoor trailer outfitted like a timeshare condo. But I can't remember where in the mall it was; I remember leaving directly to the outside.

Oh yes, now I remember.

I definitely do not think it will be in the basement...NO ONE GOES DOWN THERE. Ever. Unless you need to go to the Post Office or Payless. Not enough traffic. I am thinking it would need to be on the first or second floor. I'm thinking a retail space near Nordstrom or Bloomies.

We shall see........
