We just booked a partial for Dec 27-Jan 2. Any others already booked?

The partial was $89 per night :sad1: If there were any passholder discounts available, my DRC agent sure couldn't find them. When I asked, she told me I already had a discount on my reservation but had no idea what kind and how much it removed. ???

Does anyone have past experiences they can share on what the parks and Fort are like?

You have a discount on there, trust me. The usual rate is well over 100 bucks for all sites at that time. Plan to go early to the parks if you are going, they fill up fast and usually are to capacity by 11am. FW will still be decorated for Christmas and the sites will be too, so drive around the loops at night and you will see a real treat.

We went last year at that time. We didn't do any of the parks and had a blast. It was a great time to go! Had a golf cart saw alot of decorations from Christmas it was a really nice time to be at the Fort. sorry can't help you with the rate you got I will tell you we stayed in a Premium and it was over $100.00

I can't really tell you anything about the Fort, we were at SOG that trip. The parks during the summer seem half empty compared to how crowded it was at New Years. All of the decorations were still up. They had MASSIVE holiday trees at each park. The New Year's Eve fireworks at MK were incredible. They were 360 degrees, it was so cool. Find a spot for fireworks early.

Be prepared for any type of weather. It could be anywhere from freezing to the 80's. Those are extremes, but they have happened. Most of the time we were there the highs were in the upper 60's or low 70's, with lows in like the 50's.

Most importantly, enjoy yourself. The parks were even more beautiful than usual with all of the lights and decorations.

The TCD gang rang in 2009 and 2010 at the Fort.

Here is a link to the official TCD TR from NYE 2008/2009: TCD's NYE 2008/2009 TR

I did not do a TR for NYE 2009/2010, but I do have some photos that I will upload and post when I get a chance. They are from the NYE fireworks from Clementine's Beach.

A little tip: For the past few years, they have done the NYE fireworks on both December 30th and 31st at midnight. Someone suggested to us that we watch them from the Polynesian Resort, and that is what we did on the 30th. They were very impressive. So much so that we tried to go to the Poly on the 31st as well, but it was packed, so we ended up heading back to the Fort. We are glad that we went back to the Fort, as the view from Clementine's Beach was fine!

I would be very surprised if you find a discount on campsites during the last two weeks of December, but the rate will drop substantially in the first few days of January.

We where there all of Dec. and Jan. our rate was $45 a night for a Premium until Dec. 23-Jan. 2 the rate went up to $116+tax and on Jan 3 went back to $45

How do you do it Todd? Those rates are less than what I paid for my partial site for NYE!

Anyway, here are those NYE fireworks photos I mentioned (from January 1, 2010):

I suppose it would be fun to watch these in the MK, but I would rather be on the beach at the Fort.

Hopefully, the TCD gang will ring in 2011 from here, too.

Let’s say we had some problems at first so Disney gave us a great rate and other things.

yeah i rang in 09 as well at the fort. as tcd said they did the same fireworks on the 30th and 31st. also in the magic kingdom the 30th was extra magic hours late. so we went on the 30th it was pretty empty watched the fireworks from inside and then did the magic hours. it was awesome inside. they also do like a dry run of a new years eve party that night. over by the grotto, if it is still there, they had a dance party for the kids and stuff like that. then for new years eve, we were with a group of campers, we went to epcot as per the majority vote. we wanted some good libation on new years eve. epcots fireworks were awesome to. but if you are taking the buses get their early. leave about two hours early latest. lots of people had the same idea. it was pretty cool both of them were awesome shows.
