New Year's waitlist....if we have a chance, when???

We have been waitlisted since Feb. for a 2br at BWV for the 30th, 31st, of Dec. and 1st of Jan. We are also waitlisted for any other DVC resort (since 7 month window). Anyone have experience with this? Chances good or bad? If they come through, any ideas on when it might happen? I'm tired of stalking the website.

Just keep checking....our June trip all DVC's were booked and we too were waitlisted . The night before we left I checked the website and our waitlist had come through. I don't want to get your hopes up because that is the most popular time to go (we have gone the last 3 years it is VERY fun!!) but do keep checking. Oh yeah, we got WLV too and I think that is one of the harder ones to get....good luck!!

I'm not sure, I have to check, but right now we have a cash reservation at CBR for those three nights just in case. I forget how much time I have to cancel that one before I lose money. If that time comes and the waitlist hasn't come through, I'll just have to remove my name and pay for cash reservations. Glad yours came through. At this point, I'll be happy if I get any two bedroom anywhere!

You might have a chance at one of the other resorts (your 7 month waitlists). Last year we booked a PV BW 2 bedroom exactly 11 months out, but went on the waitlist for a SV for the exact dates you are looking for. We were lucky to get the PV because the SV never came thru. I think BWV and BCV are the most popular resorts at that time of the year.

Good luck, tho. You just never know.

I am really hoping for the BWV because of not having to switch resorts. However, I would rather switch to a DVC and use points instead of having to pay for that cash reservation. The DVC rep. that made our reservations seemed to think that something would come through somewhere, probably SSR. I just am wondering how soon I would have to cancel the cash reservation...I don't want a penalty for not cancelling early enough if the waitlist does come through. I will have to check my reservation paperwork to be sure.
