New Years resolutions?

Great Thread! Wow, I have a few.

My first and most important resolution to me would be to at least maintain my weightloss. I don't want to backtrack!

Next, I want to make sure that I have 'me' time more than I did in 2008. Please don't take me wrong, my intent isn't to sound selfish. I sometime lose sight that I need/deserve it ~ everybody needs to recharge. Yep, I am talking to all those Moms/Dads/Gaurdians/Caregivers out there especially. ;)

Another one would be that I want to make a huge effort at not wasting money of frivolous things.

Well, I am sure I will come up with some more before the turn of the year! I'm looking forward to reading the other resolutions.

If Launchpad and Cocowum are going to get in better shape....

I'm going to bring peace to the Middle East.

Now I need to lay down ,as this has made me dizzy.:lmao:

Mine is to actually stick to our budget and not to touch a credit card....unless it is to put down the down payment of a Disney vacation. And to lose all of the baby weight from this little monkey....so I guess it is my mid-year resolution!

To those of you who want to get in shape for the new year, stick with it! It is kind of sad to see all the NYR folks hit the gym the first of the year, then by the end of February, it is back to the old crowd! Become part of the old crowd and good luck!

In 2006 our first family Disney trip encouraged me to get serious about losing weight...I went on to lose 118 and have maintained it since then. I have now put back on 15 pounds and am creeping towards 20. That has to come off and I have to get serious about it. I obviously know how, I just need to quit eating the stuff i know I shouldn't! So my goal is to lose at least 15 pounds by our trip in March. I know I can do it but I have to be serious about it.

Kevin, I'm a woman. I am allowed to be insane about my weight.

The first for me is to quit smoking,:cheer2: as I am starting to have health problems due to the weed. Been a smoker for 27 years.
Second is to lose the 36 lbs I have been stuggling to lose.:thumbsup2
Went and joined at the gym again. Now I just need to get better so I can go.
That also requires putting me first a little every week.

You don't need any resolutions Lisa, you're perfect! But I do have one idea for a resolution for you........you and Alicia should resolve to stop coming up with Disney schemes that empty my wallet!! :rotfl2: You two are the masters of the good deal! :goodvibes

Well, we're still going to come up with Disney schemes, so admit it...you'd rather have us saving money you doing it, right? :teeth:

40lbs! that's great Don. Just curious, how long did it take you?

About a year, started with a contest at work and three "contest" later I was down 40. I'd still like to lose about 10 more, but if I can keep in the 10lb window I'm in now I'm happy. I went down almost 4 pant sizes and wear Large shirts instead of XL now...but I still like my clothes baggy (I'm a child of the late 80's early 90's)

Lots of working out with a buddy, sports and really focusing on what I eat daily. I still fall off the wagon, but I know I can take it off when I gain a few pounds. Just keep plugg'en away ;)

I resolve never to make weight loss my resolution again. The yoyo thing is worse than staying fat. Lost 70 lbs 3 years ago, it's back. So, no. Not that. I'll continue the gym, stay as healthy as I can, and as strong as I can, and let it go at that.

However, I do resolve to hang in there with the new job. Retail pharmacy is DEFINITELY something you do for profit, not fun...and not much profit at that.

My resolution is to continue to keep my weight off in 2009. I never ever want to go back to this. :sad1:

And, you look fantastic, Aaron...but I have to honestly say, you looked fantastic when you were heavier, too. Don't take this the wrong way...you're probably a lot happier now, and feel better, too...but you're adorable either way.

Lose about 30-40 lbs is on my 2009 agenda. Don't care about making resolutions and breaking them..I HAVE to get in shape. I've been to weight watchers 3 different times and I don't wanna count points! I need something that is not difficult to follow. Any suggestions?
And in addition to losing weight, I want to find a better way to cope with stress. Maybe finally learn how to play golf!
I want to feel good and look healthy when I go on my anniversary trip to Disney in May!:)

If you keep talking like that I may need to gain a few pounds and send in my picture and resume to GQ.

The best way that I have found is to write it down. (that's the secret)
If you don't want to count points, just write at the end of the day you will be able to tell yourself what needs to change. Weight Watcher's says to write it down as well as other agencies. As for me personnally as long as I write it I am successful, no writing no success.
Keep a journal on what you eat.

Wow! It amazing how many people have weight loss aims! I thought losing weight would make me happy, and i lost a stone last term at Uni (14lbs in 10 weeks basically), and it didn't make me happy, mainly as I did it by forgetting to eat and generally increasing my exercise. In fact, it made my figure worse, all of a sudden i was out of proportion (i am bottom heavy, suddenly i lost my curves on top to balance those below!).

So my new years resolution:
-To be careful with what i eat, not forget about meals, and make sure that i am eating enough fruit and veg
-To generally tone up rather than focusing on 'loosing weight', i would rather be a curvier me that can run around the block without weezing and cycle the 10 minutes to uni without feeling tired, than try and 'lose weight' that i did last term. My goal is to be happy with my self image as someone who is healthy rather than skinny.

I have got most of my curves back already, with all the rich Christmas food flying around (mostly headed straight for my mouth), and i want to stay that way. Heck i never wanted to wear skinny jeans anyway!:goodvibes
