New Years' on the Boardwalk

Does anyone know if there is anything special going on on the Boardwalk for New Years' Eve? We don't want to go to the parks that evening, but are looking for something fun to do with the kids.

Also, is there any location from which you can actually see the Epcot fireworks reasonably well? Thanks!

I am uncertain about the new years eve festivities at the boardwalk.

You can see the Epcot fireworks pretty well from the bridge en route to Epcot from the BW, just past the ESPN club. You wont see the water level fireworks from this location but you will see all the ariels.

Last year, there was a DJ and people were dancing in the grassy area. As for the fireworks, we had a boardwalk view and were able to see them from our room, but many people go to the top of the bridge to see them.

we haven't been there on NYE but did go 4th of July so I'm gonna take a guess that NYE will be very similar situation - - parking was packed !!
( luckily we were able to but we were one of the last; they began turning cars away immediately after us - this was approx. 8 pm ).

There was ALOT going on; Boardwalk entertainers, dj on the village green. We had a good view of Epcot fireworks just slightly around side of ESPN Club - we noticed people gathering there and so didn't even bother to walk to bridge.

When all the festivities are over if you need to travel back to different resort you may want to think about lingering an extra hour or so at BW, get some ice cream or bakery treats or walk around lake & check out other resort lobby holiday decorations because exiting the resort and traffic on Buena Vista Blvd. didn't move 50 feet for over 1 hour !!

Aside from the traffic leaving ordeal we would definitely recommend BW based on the fun we had there on July 4th
