I have never done that many activities for a cruise meet! That must have been quite the party. I love the bracelet idea. I usually only get to meet a small amount of the people in the FE/DIS group, so it'd be nice to have something that identifies us even if we aren't able to make the meets.

Oh beleive me it was a big party/cruise :cheer2:

lol I'm glad you liked the bracelets, that was my part in our cruise. And they still glow in the dark. :lmao:

We always tend to get glow in the dark bracelets and necklaces in the FE gifts. After the kids wear them, we keep them in the cabin bathroom as a nightlight. It's amazing how much light those put out in such a small dark room. :thumbsup2

Are there any new cruisers on this or are most of us experienced Disney cruisers?

I don't know If I consider myself experienced or not, I've only done one other cruise in 2008 on the wonder. This is the first time I've been involved with a meet so I guess I still have a lot to learn! So far everyone here has been so helpful!

So I know we have many months before we set sail so I was messing around on youtube.com and I have to share this with you guys!!! The Dream (and assuming the Fantasy also) has a bunch of new horns!!! Go search on youtube for disney cruise horn battles! Disney ALWAYS wins! but here's a link to the new horns on the dream! I'm so hoping for a battle with another cruise line! :rotfl: they don't stand a chance! :rotfl2:

...I have to have 10 post (I have 9 until I post this) to post a link so look below, sorry!............

When I was on the Dream it let loose with all the horns. It was so much fun to play "Name that Tune!" When I was on Castaway Cay over Thanksgiving, the Dream passed by and it played dueling horns with the Magic. The Dream definitely won that.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello. My name is Paul. My partner, Theo and I will be joining everyone on the Fantasy for the NYE Cruise. This will be our 5th NYE Cruise in a row on Disney Cruises.

It is more than just a tradition for us, it is a big celebration. We were engaged at midnight on the Disney Wonder, with the help of the great ship staff members. And now we return each year to bring in the new year with a bang (Lots of free Champagne and blowing our horns like there's no tomorrow lol).

We were on the Wonder three years in a row for NYE, and last year we were on the Dream. Now we will do the Fantasy for NYE.

The Dream was great. Theo and I miss it already. Was just a teeny bit let down at the NYE dinner menu on the Dream because it was just a normal dinner . . . and all the past years on the Wonder they had a special Lobster dinner on NYE. But it was still great.

We booked our cruise on the ship this time . . . . and . . . . we finally became DVC members too!! WOO HOOO

There were lots of great people on the forum for the Dream NYE Cruise last year . . although I have to admit that (unfortunately) we didn't meet anyone at all on the actual cruise. Theo and I are a bit shy . . . lol. Unless we're drinking heavily and we have really loud horns to blow.

Anyway . . just wanted to check in and say HI

Welcome Theo and Paul!

I see you are from New York! We're heading there this summer for the first time. Very excited!

We've never done a NYE cruise, really looking forward to it!

Welcome Theo and Paul! What a great tradition of celebrating New Year's on a Disney ship. It sounds like you are becoming regular Disney addicts with the repeat cruising and DVC ownership. Have you made it to your home resort yet? Do you plan to check out any of the Disney cruises out of New York this year?

Hopefully you can join up one of the meets.

My family will be joining you on this cruise. We are doing a Back 2 back Christmas and New Years!:cool1: It will be myself, DH, DD (19), DS (17), DS(14), and DD (13).

This will be our 4th New Years Cruise. We really love celebrating New Years Eve on DCL. We like the family friendly environment. Plus, my TEENS have a 'safe' place to ring in the New Year. ;)

B2B! Nice! I may do a Christmas cruise once both my girls are older. My youngest still has quantity over quality when it comes to gifts. My DD13 (at cruise time) loves the freedom we give her because Disney provides so much for kids of all ages (adults included) to do, I know she won't be off by herself getting into trouble. When we did a Carnival cruise, we called it "Teens and Tweens Go Wild!" because the only thing for kids that age to do was hang out in the arcade. So they ran all over the boat trying to find things to do.

Welcome Paul & theo!!! What a great romantic tradition!

Welcome!!!!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.

SLG . . . I hope you enjoy your visit to NY!! There are wonderful places to visit all over the world . . but NY is so very unique. My heart is always in NY!! Make sure you check out some of the GREAT restaurants here!!

Mean Queen . . we are not going to take any of the D cruises out of NY. Theo is in college and his times off don't really coincide with those dates . . plus we LOVE driving down to Florida. We take a 3 week vaca every year starting on Dec 26. we drive to Atlantic City for a night . . then to NC, then to Port Canaveral on the night before the cruise so we are right there on cruise day with no rushing. Then we stay in Animal Kingdom for a week after the cruise . . and drive back. WE LOVE the extended vacation It's our one vaca a year, we are both so busy.

Thank you for the welcome MRaven. The New Year's Eve cruise is indeed a great tradition. We have a BLAST . . I drink about 15 free glasses of champagne on the deck and bring in the new year!!! IT is one of the more expensive cruises . . but we get one of the inside cheapy rooms hahah. . and figure we are rarely in the room anyway . . . it's fine for us.

We are happy to answer any questions we can about the NYE Cruise. You mention fireworks. On past years the Wonder did fireworks on NYE and had a GREAT lobster dinner that night too. But last year on the Dream, there was no lobster dinner, and no fireworks on NYE . . they only did Fireworks on Pirate Night. Bit of a let down, but still had a great time.

Sgc . . . thanks for the welcome!!

We just closed on our DVC !!! Welcome Home. Used our points to book AK (that's our home) for after the cruise . . can't wait for December to come.

These are great ideas. On one cruise we had a FB page and it was nice to be able to chat privately and provide info for FE and other info without the entire internet community able to see it. Given enough info, unsavory people could determine you are not home during that time frame.....

Any creative folks that can come up with a name and/or logo for our cruise? My brother got all of the creative talent in our family so I'm no help.

Hi Theo and Paul...nice to see you cruising NYE again...several of us are on this cruise too...our last NYE cruise didn't work out well for meets since no one attended. I did meet up with Laura and we had brunch at Palo together but didn't end up meeting anyone else. I was bummed about that but I guess shorter cruises tend to lack in the meets. I was also surprised last year on the Dream with the blah NYE menu and no fireworks. Hopefully this will be better.

How about.... "New Years Fantasizers" after all it will be the fantasy's first NYE!! And I'll keep thinking!
