Last year we went to Epcot and it was amazing, but this year I fancy something a little different, has anyone been to the Sea World NYE events? There isn't any info about it on their website yet, it just says fireworks etc.

What else would you suggest for NYE?

This year will be our 5th New Years Eve, last 4 at Epcot, enjoyed everyone one of them. Can't see us trying anywhere else, wouldn't be same for us.

Exactly what we are thinking! The celebrations last year were amazing! Might see you there! :)

That's our plan for next year, any tips on making the most out of the day. I imagine an early start is a must.

For us staying offsite then we have to be there for opening, 1st Xmas we had there we were staying onsite, arrived 30 mins after opening and they had stopped allowing general admission, onsite guests only. I believe they even stop onsite guests later in the morning.
No tips really, just go with the flow, get fastpasses for busy rides as regular lines will be 2-3 hour long, fastpasses run out early. Go in and enjoy the atmoshere.
We like to get to England for 7pm(midnight UK time) then watch early fireworks and out for a bite to eat and DTD for midnight, although not sure if there will be fireworks at DTD now Pleasure Island is shut.

Definitely get an early start. We were there for opening time and left after the NY had been let in (American time). We were in England for 7pm and had an ADR for the Rose and Crown about 7.10. They have lots of mini discos around and there is such a great atmosphere.
Be prepared to be there early and stay late. Take the day at a leisurely pace and just go with the flow. Even though we spent nearly 15 plus hours there without a break it was brilliant.

Last year we didn't arrive at Epcot until 3.30pm and we were still parked in the first lot by the entrance, our friends were in MK though and they said the CM had told them that MK was closing to admissions after 12 noon. I was ill on NYE morning with food poisoning so there was no way we could have go to the park for rope drop!

I'm wondering what to do on NYE too. We're staying offsite and I don't fancy a mass crush anywhere, hindsight says to me that going for the first time ever at Christmas/New Year probably wasn't the best idea.
Think we're settled on Sea World for Christmas Day, maybe we'll have to see what happens for NYE when we're there.

Do they 'see in' the New Year in World Showcase at the time they are celebrating it in the 'actual' countries then?? If so that would be really cool!!

Is it really jammed pack and not really suitable for young/small children??? (I wasn't planning on going anywhere on NYE but maybe Epcot would suit us??:confused3 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Yes last year they had a little celebration in each country and then at mid night Florida time they went through every country and lit it up and had a mini fire works display in each country. Then when they got to the USA it was the most spectacular fireworks display that you will ever see!

We had the two kids with us and we spent from about 10pm to midnight at the fountain by Innoventions and they had a DJ wearing huge Mickey hands - he was great and the kids boogied in their buggies!

We really enjoyed it actually, so I think we may just end up going there again.

The ques for the rides were horrendous though so don't go with the expectation of getting on lots of stuff - at one point standby for Soarin' was 6 hours - yes 6 hours!:scared1:

What's it like at DTD on NYE? Sounds like it could be fun, but I've been wanting to see the fireworks at Epcot on NYE ever since I first went so I think we'll stick it out there for the duration.

If you can stick it out stay in Epcot and see the fireworks twice there. They are the best display you will see.
I don't like eating evening meal in the parks so seeing the 7:30pm fireworks is just right for us, then go out for a meal, might stay in this year don't know yet.
