Hello everyone,

I know this question has been asked before but I am giong to WDW :santa: 12/26 to 1/4:woohoo: :woohoo: What would be the best thing to do for NYE? I read that SSR has a party for DVC do all the DVC resorts have something going on or just SSR and do you need to buy tickets? Crowds don't bother me I go with the flow but my DH :scared1: I went to Disneyland for Christmas in 07 and they closed the park twice that week because it was full. We stayed at DLH so we were ok. Is it the same at WDW if you stay at one of WDW resorts can still go to the park if they close it because it is full?

Thanks
Pam

We were there 12/30-1/7/07 and had a great time. We stayed at BCV and there was not a party at the resort. There was an adult only party at Atlantic DDance at the Boardwalk and I heard about somthing at SSR. We went to MGM for the NYE. WE started out early-park opening-and stayed until 11pm. The crowd was very manageable(maybe due to some light rain at times). In the evening they passed out hats and noisemakers. The Osborne lights atarted around 6. There were three showings of Fantasmic and fireworks scheduled for midnight. We headed back to BCV aroun 11pm-we were tired and wantd to avoid the mass exodus. It tunred out perfect-from our room we could see freworks from all over the world at midnight-MK, Epcot, MGM and PI! I've read plenty of advice as to pick a park and plan on staying all day due to closures. We also wantd to be able to get back to BCV easy-which left us with MGM or Epcot. I think Epcot would be more adult. Have fun with whatever you do!

We are not fans of huge crowds, so we tend to go to Animal Kingdom in the morning, and then either to La Nouba or the movies at DTD at night. If we feel like fireworks, we slip into Magic Kingdom shortly after 11pm.

If you choose not to stay up real late, the Magic Kingdom has very manageable crowds the next morning! :)

We don't like crowd either, but we LOVE Epcot on NYE!!! Go figure. It is just a lot of fun, and I'll suffer the crowds that one time for the experiene. Our first time to do NYE was the millenium, and Epcot was wall to wall bodies. We have done it since then with much smaller crowds, and LOVE the additions to Illuminations at midnight. It's also fun to experience midnight at each of the countries, since they celebrate at the time it would be midnight in their location. That means that most European contries are celebrating midnight at 6 PM. LOADS of fun!
