BTW....i DID get my office cleaned....yeah :woohoo: Have 2 bxs of recycle/shred & 1 throwaway....

I believe it is my duty... ;)

I am having fun planning my little weekend jaunt...gotta decide exactly what tickets I am gonna need first~

Epcot is a definite, MK for MNSSHP depends on one more friend telling me she'll be there...I may just do it anyway, five hours in the park, getting my birthday button and getting me a limited edition MNSSHP pin is all I want. I even know what store to go to to get the pin ;)

You, my friend, have motivated me to go upstairs and clean up my "office." I have a room that I've been meaning to turn into an office anyway. John brought me home some carpet squares and I started laying them down to see how it looks. My project is going to take a little longers than yours, it only took me ten years to get this far :faint:

So what dinner seating has everyone signed up for??

Palo on NYE-
A girlfriend of mine and her husband did a 4 night NYE cruise a couple of years back.. and she said she wished she HADNT done Palo on NYE as it was the same Palo menu, and that the NYE menu looked great. Said if she had to do it over again, she would stay w/the rotation for that night, and choose another for the upgrade to Palo. What is everyone else planning for that night?? :dance3:

What excursions do you think you might try on this trip. I have done the Western once before, but not w/my DH Brian..

I am totally excited.. and an avid planner.. So some of these questions might seem WAYYYYY to early!!! lol

Hi everyone! :wave2: Been away for the weekend but now I'm back for the last 11 sleeps before you-know-what!!! ;) I'll try and catch up with the thread...
Great news, Kaz!!!!!!!! It sure is a mixture of relief and pride when our children succeed. :thumbsup2 But what's a "grad scheme"?
Thanks everyone for your good wishes about Matt's success! :grouphug: I even got some Tag Fairy action as a result of all that proud maternal boasting/posting!!! :thumbsup2

Aisling, grad schemes are what a lot of the large employers have over here for post-University graduates to give them their first experience in the business world. They are ridiculously competitive and, as our DD Sophie had no success at all getting on one, we didn't hold out much hope for Matty. It just goes to show... As a side issue, Matt and his band also recorded their first demo CD at the weekend - it's actually quite good and when I can work out how to do it, I'll post a link... :thumbsup2

the fires are about 10 miles from our house....it's just SOOOO many acres and with the wind (not tooooo much but enough), it's really blowing the ashes everywhere....my office window is the one that always stays open for a nice cross breeze, and the whole sill is covered inside and out.....we have plantation shutters (white) and they too are covered....so i'm cleaning this whole room but while i'm in here...
Sounds bad, Brenda! :sad2: Is it any better now?

...this lovely chore i'm determined to finish this wkend...i should have a box or 2 of shredding / recycle stuff :rotfl2: i think i should do this annually.....instead of every 5 years:lmao: :lmao:
When DH and I were younger, we used to change house every 14 months or so and whilst all the remodelling work was exhausting, the almost annual move meant we were always on top of our paperwork - and wouldn't I appreciate that now?!! :rotfl2:

Welcome Silmarg! I hope you do decide to cruise with us - we're definitely going to have a blast!
I like the idea of having my entire family together for a holiday doing something special. My kids are 21 and 19 and I don't know how many more vacations like this I will get to have with them...
Absolutely agree! My kids 24, 22 and 14 currently - who knows how many more times the youngest will get to hang out with the eldest? They are all so excited about the cruise that it's worth everything to me... :cloud9:
...Everone has their reasons for cruising or vacationing when they do.I look forward to next new years and hope you will be joining us for an unforgettable, once in a lifetime cruise.
Couldn't put it any better, Tigg! :thumbsup2

DH is not happy with my DCL budget for 2008...
Mine neither! 2008 is almost DCL cruise overkill but what the hey - I promise I'll save the pennies in 2009... :rolleyes1

Tigg, I'll catch up with your photos when I can relax at the Mac a little more - it's a crazy appointment-fest over the next few days so I'm a bit  at the moment! I know I'm being dumb, but when will you be in WDW? Maybe we overlap, if not, have a fab time (like I even need to say that!!)... :goodvibes

Kelly, hi! We have the late seating. I know we won't be eating at Palo's on NYE - maybe if just the two of us but with all the family (there'll be 7 of us) and my Magic Mateys it just wouldn't feel right... :grouphug:

I'm not sure about any excursions - except for one! We all want to visit the Xcaret Eco Park in Cozumel so hopefully that's a definite!:woohoo:

Hi Magic Mateys,

Kelly, we have the late seating. And it's so not too early to be planning! We've already been talking about what we'll be wearing on formal night!

For the guys, are any wearing tuxes? My guys wore suits last time, but since it'll be NYE, we're going with tuxes I think. We'll just rent them through DCL to make it easier.

Aisling, my youngest DS is insisting he's going to wear a white tux and I'm pretty confident all the other menfolk will be wearing the more usual black tuxes - I can't wait to see 'em all dressed up! We're thinking of hiring too - can't face the transatlantic upheaval... ;) Now I've really gotta go and start dinner!!!!!!!

Yes, Brian will be wearing a tux... I went on a cruise in 2000 w/an ex boyfriend and was able to get a cruise rate special at a local tux place.. It ended up being cheaper than the cruise line's.. however.. that said.. it was Sept. NOT NYE week.

I think I might shop around here and get what the cost would be, and then see what Disney is charging.

When I switched my ressie from the April vacation cruise to the NYE cruise, I forgot to ask which seating they were putting me down for. Suppose I could log on to the DCL website and see if they have it listed. Have in the past done Late Seatings.. and LOVED them.. however, where I am unsure if I will have an infant w/me (HOPEFULLY) I was thinking maybe I should request the early seating.

Has anyone done the late seating and had an infant w/them?

Hi Sil,

This will be my family's first NYE cruise, and we're so excited! I try not to look at the price so I don't :faint: , but I know it's so worth it. We went on the 2005 Christmas cruise, and it was the most exciting , fun vacation we ever had, so imagine NYE with Mickey!

ANd ME! :goodvibes

HEllo Magic Mateys- I've been lurking for a while but decided to post....Really caught my eyes with fashion/tuxedo talk. There is something about NYE on the Magic with everyone dressed up...it really would make it a special night...one that stands out from anything else.

It was back to work for me last week so i have been kind of busy. Whoever said school teachers have the life was completely mistaken :scared1:

Bella, I notice you're still "earning your ears" (look at your avatar sig)! You need to post more!

Fashion talk, I knew that would get you! You're a real girly girl if there ever was one, so let's see some dresses!

Louise (Bella), I always forget to ask you...

when you cruised on the Royal Caribbean (I think that's what it was), was there a formal night, and if so, what did you wear?

And this is my absolute fave style...

I wouldn't wear this, but it's a fun-looking dress for NYE.

Yeah, those bias-cut styles really work for me - it's just the length that could be a problem. I'm a diddy 5'2" and I always end up swamped!!! :rotfl2: Love that pink number... Hey, are we still going to try and wear the same colour frocks? I love your Xmas pics - everyone looks so grand! Can't wait to be a part of it...
