New Years Day 2020

It was not my original plan, but it turns out that my family will be at WDW on January 1, 2, 3 and the morning of January 4 next year. I have visited WDW many times, but never over a holiday period and I am nervous. We are four adults and we are not particularly interested in parades or shows. We are interested in rides, good food and, of course, Galaxy's Edge. I know that GE makes everything less predictable than in years past. We are enthusiastic about getting up early and probably less interested in staying out late. That said, which park would you visit on January 1, especially and also the other days. I am coming up on my window to make dining reservations so I need an idea of where I will be each day. I will have park hoppers.

I’ve done MK the last two 1/1’s and highly recommend. There’s a late arriving crowd given the night before plus MK is coming off two days of long hours and special fireworks and in my opinion many people look to other parks.

1/18 was very cold/windy and the park was pretty darn dead. 1/1/19 was warmer if I remember correctly but still a good park day.

Granted, it’s still a stout crowd time of year so it’s not all candy canes and roses, but we’ve enjoyed it.

+1 for 1/1 being an awesome day. New Year's Eve is the most crowded day of the year, but 1/1 is a pretty decent day. Still busy, but not nearly the chaos of the night before. Many things will still be up from the celebration. Went this past year, and thoroughly enjoyed the parks.

New Years' Day in the morning will be the lightest crowds of those days. If SWGE is your focus that is where I would be very early. It will only get more crowded the rest of the day and week.
