I faxed my requests yesterday afternoon (4 days out), so I'll let you know then if any of them work out!

I'll post a report in a couple of weeks when I return too, and try to answer any questions!

keithomas,, What number did you use to fax? I will be faxing in in twenty days. What kind of things did you request??? thanks,,,corvair

corvair-
Did you decide to make ressies for Whispering Canyon? PH? Are you finally settled on a room number? I wouldn't give the last item too much consideration, beacuase you will only make yourself CRAZY:crazy: trying to figure out the best location, view, etc. and it will only take away from enjoying your stay. I have almost made myself insane trying to request our "perfect spot" - I figure that I'll leave it up to the "Disney gods". (one minute I want a room close to the pool, then I want a room opening out to the lobby, then I want a MK view, then.....and it goes on and on). I finally realized that I am going to be with the MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE at the BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD and nothing else matters....!!

Countdown to WDW:
1 month - 27 days - 15 minutes - Yippee!!!!:bounce:

Our reservation is for woods view, guaranteed non-smoking for medical/allergy reasons. I requested bunk beds when I made the reservation.

I faxed to: 407-824-3232 I believe.

In my fax I basically said this (paraphrased): "Looking forward to bring our kids for their first trip ever to WDW.....arriving saturday June 1st.....I'm trying to surprise my wife since we are also celebrating our anniversary this trip.....anything you could do would be wonderful, but if occupancy allows I would love to surprise her with a deluxe or concierge floor room! (I decided I'd go for the brass ring there!) I completely understand that it might not be possible.... I'm sure our initially booked requests would be most magical if occupancy doesn't allow you to help. Have a wonderful day, we are looking forward to visiting your hotel."

Asking for the upgrade is definitely a stretch, but I know we'll be perfectly happy with whatever nonsmoking bunkbed room we could secure otherwise, so might as well go for it. The same tactic worked for me in 1999 at the BWV where my wife and I were upgraded to a 1BR villa! I didn't ask at check in, I just faxed down a nice letter and the CM informed me at checkin that I had been upgraded to a 1BR waterview. My opinion is it doesn't hurt to ask nicely and understand that you probably have a very small chance of getting it, but it also might secure a courtyard room without even asking for it. Never know......

Lucki4 - When we checked in, the CM asked us if we would be interested in being a flag family. We picked the date that we wanted to do it.

Corvair - Our room #4043 was not overlooking the pool, it was overlooking the waterfall area of the courtyard. We had a GREAT view! We could see the electric water parade from our balcony. We were a little bit far from the main elevator, BUT we were very close to the elevator that is right next to roaring forks and the trout bar. :D I have a great picture of our view from the balcony.
I would be happy to e-mail it to you. I will try to post it on this board.

I would be happy to answer any other questions!

Kimmar, yes I have made my PS for whispering canyons. We are going June 18 and staying at PO-FQ until Sunday then we are going to WL for 4 days. I am planning on Ak in morning until about 2:00 and then spent the rest of the day at WL. We are going to hang at the pool and have dinner about 8:00 at WC. I don't care what room I am in, just want to over look the pool.

Peterpam, I would love to see your picture. I love to look at all WL pictures. I hear the resort is fabulous... thans for the reply. corvair

We leave on Friday morning and check into the Wilderness Lodge! I faxed a request asking for a room in the North Wing. Hope we get it! Thanks everyone for all the information I received. Still not sure if I requested the right wing for the Wood view, but I guess we will see at checkin. I will be back Tuesday night and will try to post about any experiances we had!

Thanks again!

Sue

Okay you got me interested. What is the window view for those rooms that open on the lobby. We have Woods View.

I keep getting sucked in. I was just thinking what kimmar said about driving yourself crazy. I'm at Disney and the WL for my annniversary!!!! Anything else is just topping.

wld-
way to have a positive outlook on things, and above all, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

MickFreak-
(Mouse or Jagger?? -lol-) on behalf of all the WL enthusiasts, I'm sending Pixie Dust your way for this weekend * :bounce: * :bounce: * :bounce: :bounce: *....can't wait to hear about your "adventures in the "Great Northwest"!!

corvair-
I'm sure that you are going to have a SUPER time at WL...keep in mind that the smorgasbord at WL gives you ALOT of food; if you have young ones with you, it probably isn't worth it to get this for them (my 13 y.o.DS ordered a grilled cheese sandwich!!! Imagine that!! he was happy, tho', so that made me happy...:) !)

PeterPam-
I definitely would LOVE to see your balcony view...post it if you can!:earsgirl:

Kimmar

It's for Mickey Mouse! My entire house is Mickey.....Can't wait until Friday!!!!

Everyone that is going, enjoy the WL. It's a beautiful resort. IMHO it's the best.

:D

Hi!

I posted this question on the resort board and didn't get a response. I was hoping 999 ghosts might know the answer. I will be staying at WL in August (can't wait!!!) Right now ticketmania. com has a special 4 day Park Hopper with one plus at a very good price for mousesavers.com customers. (you can't purchase this ticket regularly) If I purchase these passes and they are unused when I check in at WL, can they be added to my room key? We've always just purchased Park Hoppers when we check in and they have been on the room key. I like this, the cards are very sturdy and it is one less thing to keep track of!

thanks!

What do you mean they are on the room key?? Havent been to Disney World in 4 years is this something new???

Hi!
Disney resorts use the same key system as most hotels. It is a credit card type key that opens your room door. It also is used as your pass into the parks. If you have a resort package that includes meals, this info is also on the card. You can also use this card to charge things throughout the parks to your room account. This makes it really easy! I always worry about loosing things. This way, you can leave charge cards, etc. in your room safe, and only carry one card! :)

Ok I understand all that, however if you have hopper passes as we do and not length of stay passes do they transfer that info onto the key or do we use our hopper passes everyday like in the past???

Hi again!

We have always just purchased Park Hoppers when we arrived at our resort. We just don't need the UPH. I feel it is too expensive when we usually don't even get to the Parks on the first and last days of our visit. The CMs give you a receipt and just add the passes to your room card when you are checking in. So, really we never see a pass or ticket, it is just on the key card.
:)

What happens if you have unused days on your park hopper? Is the room key card still active after checkout for that?

That's another question that I am hoping 999 ghosts can help us with! We have never had left over days, but may in August. I wonder how that works with tickets added to room keys--anyone have any experience with this?
Also, has anyone purchased from ticketmania.com?

Chance's mom- We were in Disney in last year and bought our tickets from floridaorlandotickets.com.When we arrived at our hotel i asked if these could be put on our room key and were told that they weren't able to do that because they were bought elsewhere. I am not sure if things have changed since then but this was my experience. I would have loved to have them on my room key.

Yes, if you have leftover days on your room key they will remain on indefinitely. Just bring your old room key back for you next trip and it will work at the gates. Just make sure you keep them in a safe and don't forget where that is!! :)
