I want to know if there are any std rooms that face the lobby in which you can also see fireworks from the balcony. Thank you.

And how many days before arrival should I fax my room request in? I have a feeling that we won't get exactly what we want because of arriving on the Friday after Turkey Day, but I'm hoping and praying!

Hi All..
There are no standard rooms that overlook the lobby AND see the fireworks....most of the standard rooms overlook the delivery area starting at the fourth floor through floor six, the other standard view rooms overlook the bus stop area..
Since the lobby is on the second floor the rooms closest to the lobby on the south side do have a patio with no first floor underneath...As you travel down the south wing, the second floor has balconies with a first floor below it with a patio.....

Hi, folks. I'm thinking of requesting a courtyard view room on the first floor as close to the pool as possible. We have two children who will want to use the pool frequently, and I think it would be handy to have them walk right out the patio door to the pool. We'll be there in June, so it'll be hot -- which we like!

Is this do-able with a queen/bunk room? Or any room? Could we realistically be close enough to the pool to let the girls swim while mom and dad relax on the patio?

If possible (once the codes are out -- probably dreaming here), we'd like to upgrade to a junior suite /deluxe room. Is this possible with a first floor walk out?

Any advice would be appreciated!

We leave in 15 days! Whoo Hoo!

This is our first stay at a Deluxe resort and I have dreamed of the WL for a LONG time. I am quite excited. I convinced DH that the perfect way to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary was to stay in my dream resort....it worked!

We will arrive at the WL on Dec 10th and plan to spend the day exploring the lodge before we head of to MVMCP. What is the earliest that we can check in? We will be leaving Universal at 11 AM.

We have a smoking room. Are these all located on the 5th floor? Not that I am complaining about a 5th floor room, just want to know if all the smoking rooms are in the same area?

Most important question....our last day at WDW is Saturday. We don't fly out until early Sunday morning, but early enough that it is easier to just stay at the airport. My question is....how long will the WL hold on to our bags? We want to spend most of Saturday evening at the parks or even dinner, especially since we want to take advantage of our UPH passes. So I am just curious as to how long we can actually "stay" there with out having a room?

Thanks for the help....this board and especially this thread have been WONDERFUL....and so have askmickey, 999ghosts, humphrey the bear and all otehrs!

mzmickey,

You'll love the lodge.

We also get a smoking room, and from what I can gather, most of the 5th floor (facing the Villa's) is smoking, but assume there must be a smoking room in concierge.

You can check in at anytime, it's just that the room may not yet be ready to occupy. Bell Services will hold your luggage until the room is ready.

As concerns leaving your luggage when checking out, we do the check out thing and then have bell services hold our luggage until we leave. They have never given us a time limit, they usually just ask, when are you leaving.

Since your going to the hotel at the airport, no sense in asking for late checkout at the Lodge.

Enjoy your stay, we'll already be there by the 10th.

Can't wait.

Well, only 16 days left!! I believe that I have everything ready except faxing in my room request (4 days prior to arrival). I just want to double check that I will be asking for the correct room. We have woodview rooms reserved and would love a view of the MK fireworks. I will be requesting rooms on the North Wing on the 5th or 6th floor. Is it wrong to ask for specific room numbers? (I've collected some from previous posts)

I am so excited as this is our first stay at WL and only our 2nd time on-site! I cannot wait to see the looks on my girls' faces when they see the giant Christmas tree! I have not told them that we are going yet (they are only 2 and 4, so I would hear about it everyday). I will surprise them and have them find out when we drive up and see Mickey's face, they will be thrilled!!

Enough of my rambling! Everyone who is going soon - enjoy!

Hi All.....
MRSPETE...If you want a first floor room, I would suggest, south side, end of wing, your children can walk out and you will have a perfect view of them not to mention easy access to the pool bar....two queens or a queen and a set of bunks are available...as far as a junior suite, you may not be able to watch your children since they are on the corner with no access out from the patio....Since junior suites are rarely discounted , I would suggest connecting rooms in a courtyard view....
MZMICKEY...All smoking optional rooms are on the fifth floor, south wing, either a view of the main courtyard or villa courtyard.
Bell Services will store your luggage for as long as you want, as long as we are not talking days...just a little joke....

Have a Magical Day.....

Travelling with 78 yr old GF who has limited mobility.

Do all WL bathrooms have tub rails to help a person get in & out of tub? Can you request non slip tub mats from housekeeping ?

Also, are wheelchairs arranged at bell services or at front desk when checking in ? Is there a deposit /charge required?

Thanks to those who respond in advance:)

Thanks Ratpack! :Pinkbounc
I sure hope they can do it. I was considering asking for 5th floor, but now that I hear it is a smoking floor, I guess I won't do that. My son and I both have asthma, so clean air is pretty important, you know what I mean? I appreciate the reply. Thanks again.
:smooth:

Could someone tell me where the elevators are located?

I know there are some in the main building but i was wondering if the people at the end of the North & South wings also have easy access to the pool and water shuttle.

Also, Is there such a thing as Main building courtyard view where you can see the water parade and be able to walk out your door and see the Christmas tree and lobby?

thanks so much...

p.s don't tell anyone but I think I'm more excited about my Honeymoon then I am my wedding:eek:

Disneymooners... LGR's and Wedding Ears already packed!!;)

askmickey -

are you saying there are std rooms on the first floor that overlook the lobby and have a patio? if so, how far from the pool are they? Thanks again for your help in answering these numerous questions. We are getting excited as the trip is getting closer and closer . . . . . (I'm just thinking maybe that would be a better deal than being able to see fireworks from our balcony)

NJPhyl, I wouldn't worry about being too far from the pool, marina, etc. IMHO I don't think anything is really that far away. WL isn't spread out like CB, or CSR.
BTW DD5 cut another link off of our countdown chain...Only 7 more days until we're at WL!!!

I may be re-asking a question, but which floors have smoking rooms? I want to avoid those when the time comes when asking for the room request.

sm4987 -- I've read that the 5th floor is the smoking floor.

Does the WL have Irons/boards in the room? How about towels at the pool. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Yes to all of the above. The towels are behind the pool bar at the far end of the pool back on the other side from the spas/whirlpools. You will love the Lodge. I am counting the days til we go in a couple of weeks...

We go in 11 days, and we just found out that my nephew and his wife will be joing us. Soooooooooo excited.

Smoking floor is the 5th floor, but just one side of the wing. The other side (we stayed in Non-smoking 5002) is not smoking.

Yes, towels at the pools.
