Hi all,
We just arrived home last night at 11pm. Thanks for all the great tips. 999 Ghosts a special thanks to you. You certainly made our trip magical! Also special thanks to Dagny at DU. She is wonderful! She was very paitent and anserwed our questions in a timely and friendly manner. She's great DU is lucky to have her!! Whew...laundry's going full steam. Hmm..where to begin. It was a wonderful stay! I'm going to post a trip report on the trip boards..but I'll give some highlights here. Here we go....
-Arrived at about 2:30 pm. No line for registration. Bren was CM and was great. I think he's new, he had to double check a couple of items. i.e.. whether the 5th day of a park hopper could be used towards purchase of AP at a later time.(Yes,it can).
-We were upgraded to room 5026 woods view. Otter pond view. Didn't see any otters, but dd swears she saw a buffallo by the pond. She's CERTAIN it was NOT an otter. lol!! Great location, we could see the fireworks @ MK each night. Elevators were right around the corner and dropped us off right near Roaring Forks and doors to pool.
-Kirby was our waiter @ WC.He was very good. DD's were very shy,so he didn't pressure them. Food was very good. Requested Jefro but he wasn't working.
-Ate at Roaring Forks quite a few times. The food was good and very reasonable (by Dissney standards). We did buy the refillable mugs and they have no bar codes on them. The sign does say though "For the length of your stay).
-Kathy was our lodgekeeper. Our room was always clean and she left a seal towel animal each morning on the tub. Also, on our last day while checking out I ran back up to the room and she was cleaning it. Hubby and I kept missing each other, I thought it was funny. DH didn't. Anyhow...I tactfully tried to askeher if DH had left her any $ this morning. She said "Yes, hunny don't worry about a thing..and thank you so much" I thought that was great, because she could have collected 2 tips. We tipped daily by the way.
-Transportation on the boats worked out fine. Transportation to the other parks needs improvement though. We did have to wait quite a while for a bus to AK. Also, on our first night we went to Epcot. We were waiting for about 25 mins (in the rain!!) for a bus, when the bus arrived there was a disable person waiting to get on. I can understand that person had to get on first..again no problem. The problem was the driver seemed kind of aggegravated that this person was there, and it didn't seem like he knew how to work the elevator and the seats inside. We waiting another 10mins in the rain! Then when we got on the bus, he didn't even announce where we were at the stops (we went to FW first). Oh well...that was the only real glitch as far as transportaion. We also went to ESPN zone one night & had to take the bus to MGM, then a boat the Boardwalk. *That* driver said we should have told him we were going to BW because he could have dropped us directly off there (we were the only family ln the bus). I thought they had assigned routes, plus if anyone was waiting at BW for a ride I didn't want them to wait longer. BW has some definite transportation issues. I've been there about 4 times and have *always* waited about 1/2 hour for bus. This time it really stunk though because we were trying to be at MK for our seat for SM parade. Ended up on Main street at about 8:30,no curb seats. Second row though. I'm trying to keep this post towards WL...I have more to post at trip boards.
-Oooh, No green ribbons

. I even had dd's and dh looking. The girls had ribbons in their hair each day and I had them on my waist pack. We were also sporting two jungle print stollers (also w/ribbons on the handle). So if Chances' Mom or ARS saw that...it was us. Oh one other funny thing. A lady had a lime green bandana on her stroller so I went up to her. She looked at me like I was nuts!lol!
Sorry so long...If you have any questions, please ask.
