HRCCrazy.... don't worry, just me and my DD for a girls trip for her 17th Birthday. We will probably not do too much damage.

Have fun on the Wonder, we did the land/sea package last year, and had a wonderful time..... I'm sure you will too.....

Christian78.... thank you for the info on the woods view...... not that it really matters what view I have!!!!! I'm going to Disney World.... The Happiest Place On Earth!!!

THANK YOU Chance's Mom

OH now I am absolutley sure that I made the right decision. Having never been to Disney it was hard to pick a hotel - I chose Port Orleans French Quarter but when the new prices came out I decided to upgrade!

Did your room have a connecting room? (We (4 of us) are traveling with a friend and his daughter) Bunks?
I know someone else asked you these questions but I did not see a response yet so I thought I would ask again :)

I laughted at you eating your words because I always think - oh Its just a place to sleep! Thanks again!

We just got the upgrade to the WL from CBR and want to have 2 connecting rooms with 4 Queen Beds. I hope someone can tell me that is possible. We have standard, but would also appreciate any advice on getting an upgrade. Thanks anyone for your help.

For some reason, I couldn't post last night.

Our room was 4092. We were all the way at the front of the lodge, fourth floor, over the check-in desk. If you were standing facing the door to the room from the hallway, there was only one more room to the right-there was a connecting door to this room, but no bunk beds in our room. We only have one child, so didn't really need the bunk beds, although he would have loved them!
If you have a car, this location is especially nice, because you just have a short walk down 2 flights of stairs, and you are at the front door. Another really fun thing, we could watch the characters from the character caravan. The view from our room was looking down on the lobby, directly across from Whispering Canyon Cafe. I will request this location again!

Chance's Mom

I loved reading your report. Based on the info I've gotten from this thread I am also thinking of requesting the standard rooms above the lobby for our stay. This will be our first trip to the WL so I have no idea how it is laid out, but I would think that since these rooms are above the lobby that they would be pretty convenient to most things in the resort. Is this an accurate assumption?

I am just so excited about our CBR upgrade to WL. I've been reading all of the posts and am only half way through. My son's favorite animal is the Otter. I hear some rooms have great views of the otter pond and it is very active! Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms. And if the haunt 999 is around he may know if it is a possibility to request 2 connecting rooms non-smoking with all Queen Beds overlooking this otter pond since I hear that getting to it on foot is not an option. I would hate to request something that is not available and frustrate a CM. They are usually the most special people in the world. Any help would be appreciated. My knowledge of WL is growing fast with all of these great people. I think we are the fastest growing thread in the world. (especially with the knowledge of the ghost and others)

Would the otter pond be a standard room? I hate to be asking for an upgrade right off the bat. Any would be nice. If we see otters my son will think we are in the best room in the house. I will just be happy to be at the WL.

Thanks again Chance's mom

Did you do the 'flag family' thing?

We have DS - 1 1/2 and DD - 8
I thought the bunk might be nice for them 9Then I wouldn't need a porta-crib as we went away 2 weeks ago and they had bunks in our cabin and he slept great in it! But I think I will forfeit the bunks for the convienence of easy access to the car! But the chance of having a night view of MK sounded great too! Yikes - maybe I won't request anything and roll the dice see what we get - I'm thinking that I would be happy in the janitors closet! :)
We will see how I feel closer to the date! I don't want the view of MK with the price of early morning beeping of trucks!

Which - does anyone know how 'early' that happens? My clan is up at 6 - 6:30 normally!

Chance's Mom! So glad to hear that you had a terrific time at the "World", and especially at WL!! To us, it WAS everything we dreamed, and MORE! I was just saying to AspiringCindy (my sis) that, of all the WDW trips that we've made, we really got to enjoy WL and all its offerings the most!!

LoveMickey ~~
I will try to help as best as I can....the last room number on the North wing for the 1st section of the "U" is xx43 (my sister's room is 6043 - she was on the 6th floor) The odd-numbered rooms face the "courtyard" on the North side (I don't know how it works on the South side). Our room was 6045. Next to us was my DS-in-L; her room was 6047, and finally, my 3 DS's room was 6049 (BTW - this room had bunks!:D ). The view from my balcony was SPECTACULAR!!! It directly faced the waterfalls and you had a view of the pool and Trout Pass pool bar and a distant view of the lake. Rooms xx41 to xx35 (my DMom-in-L was in room 6035) directly faces the lake. From her balcony, you had a better view of the lake and pool, but you could not see the waterfalls from her room. (I hope this helps  !)

Hope that this helps anyone interested in North wing non-MK views.....P.S. ~ room #6043 had bunks, too!!:D

Chance's Mom
Thanks for posting such a wonderful trip report. It really has me getting excited about our trip. So glad you had such a nice time! Can't wait to hear about duckadoo's time.

We were supposed to leave tomorrow but I delayed it a day, so we're leaving Monday instead.

DD and I have been sick, I think we're finally REALLY on the recovery road and just want to give it that extra day. For the past few days it's been, we'll have to totally reschedule, we're going, we'll have to totally reschedule, we're going...it can make you crazy. But, dd is on antibiotics (her 2nd one) so she should be good. I think I'm doing better, I HOPE...I really hope we're going!! I just have to get through one day without meds!! Keeping fingers crossed since I've planned this trip for months. DD doesn't even know about it!! Won't she be surprised! Plus friends of ours are staying at an FW cabin, she'll be thrilled about that too!

Will certainly report when we get back!

I hope everything is going well for 999ghsts!

...lucky for you that you live in Florida (I'm assuming that you are driving to the "World".... ) What a pity it would have been to have to get on an airplane, being sick and all, Yukkie!!!!

Hi everyone, I am planning a stay at WL for the middle of Dec. and need a little help. My wife is really looking forward to seeing Disney at Christmas time ( we have only been here in the summer). We picked WL because of all the posts stating how beautiful it is for the holidays, I'm sure we'll love it. This will also be our DD's (20 mo.) first visit! I have heard that cribs are available, is this true? If so, is there a cost per night for them and what kind of shape are they in? Also, does anyone know if they sell whole milk at WL or anywhere else at the World? If they do, how large a bottle can I get, half-gallon?

We are thinking about getting a lobby room with a courtyard view. How much noise will we hear with a lobby room? Any other tips on the weather or crowds or what we might expect from our 20 mo. old would be appriciated! Thanks in advance for you help!:) :)

Check out this link for a great map of WL (also great pictures):

http://www.wdwig.com/g_wl.htm

One of the things that I liked best about the Lodge is that it is much smaller than some other Disney Resorts. Every room location has it's benefits. You'll be able to see on the map the location of the pool, Roaring Forks, bus stop and boat dock. Keep in mind that it doesn't take long to get anywhere in the Lodge. It is such a safe, cozy feeling place (I think because everything is under one roof).

We were not a Flag Family, I think it takes place at 7 or 7:30. I bet the view is awesome!:) I am a very early riser, unfortunately, I'm the only early riser in the family. It was a challenge to get the other 2 up and ready by 8:30:rolleyes:

Jwfla422 I hope that both you and DD are feeling 100% better and can go ASAP. May you all have a great time in Disney! I noticed that when I was reading your post that your timer said 1 minute and 15 seconds left till you left, so I got to watch it run out and see your anouncement . Now I really cant wait till our trip in May!! Gosh its so far away. Drat! LOL YOu have a great time.!

My son the otter lover and I reviewed all the wonderful info and photos this thread has provided us last night. We even made up a cheer for the Otter Pond. He is so excited about the possibility of getting a room on the first floor so he can go out to it. I promised him that if we did not get that room we would climb over what ever we had to to get to that pond. My DH had to listen to that cheer all the way until bed time.

Any info on where the otter pond is? Or which room is on the first floor at the O T T E R P O N D - excuse me I got carried away!

We were on our honeymoon, and i requested a king bed with a tub. Our original room was 2129. This room had a king bed with a tub, and was convient to the buses, boats, and pool. However the noise was extremely bad. The second morning we woke up, only to be distracted by LOTS of noise. My DH said, what are ppl congrating in front of our room or what! I got out and looked, and they infact were. (The room is right by a door out to the pool area) After that we requested a different room.

The front desk person was very helpful and found us a new room 6139 which was MUCH more quiet but didn't have a tub. The view from this room was amazing though.

I guess my point is, 2129 is very convient and very noisey
6139 is mostly convient and very quiet :)

Hi all,
We just arrived home last night at 11pm. Thanks for all the great tips. 999 Ghosts a special thanks to you. You certainly made our trip magical! Also special thanks to Dagny at DU. She is wonderful! She was very paitent and anserwed our questions in a timely and friendly manner. She's great DU is lucky to have her!! Whew...laundry's going full steam. Hmm..where to begin. It was a wonderful stay! I'm going to post a trip report on the trip boards..but I'll give some highlights here. Here we go....

-Arrived at about 2:30 pm. No line for registration. Bren was CM and was great. I think he's new, he had to double check a couple of items. i.e.. whether the 5th day of a park hopper could be used towards purchase of AP at a later time.(Yes,it can).
-We were upgraded to room 5026 woods view. Otter pond view. Didn't see any otters, but dd swears she saw a buffallo by the pond. She's CERTAIN it was NOT an otter. lol!! Great location, we could see the fireworks @ MK each night. Elevators were right around the corner and dropped us off right near Roaring Forks and doors to pool.
-Kirby was our waiter @ WC.He was very good. DD's were very shy,so he didn't pressure them. Food was very good. Requested Jefro but he wasn't working.
-Ate at Roaring Forks quite a few times. The food was good and very reasonable (by Dissney standards). We did buy the refillable mugs and they have no bar codes on them. The sign does say though "For the length of your stay).
-Kathy was our lodgekeeper. Our room was always clean and she left a seal towel animal each morning on the tub. Also, on our last day while checking out I ran back up to the room and she was cleaning it. Hubby and I kept missing each other, I thought it was funny. DH didn't. Anyhow...I tactfully tried to askeher if DH had left her any $ this morning. She said "Yes, hunny don't worry about a thing..and thank you so much" I thought that was great, because she could have collected 2 tips. We tipped daily by the way.
-Transportation on the boats worked out fine. Transportation to the other parks needs improvement though. We did have to wait quite a while for a bus to AK. Also, on our first night we went to Epcot. We were waiting for about 25 mins (in the rain!!) for a bus, when the bus arrived there was a disable person waiting to get on. I can understand that person had to get on first..again no problem. The problem was the driver seemed kind of aggegravated that this person was there, and it didn't seem like he knew how to work the elevator and the seats inside. We waiting another 10mins in the rain! Then when we got on the bus, he didn't even announce where we were at the stops (we went to FW first). Oh well...that was the only real glitch as far as transportaion. We also went to ESPN zone one night & had to take the bus to MGM, then a boat the Boardwalk. *That* driver said we should have told him we were going to BW because he could have dropped us directly off there (we were the only family ln the bus). I thought they had assigned routes, plus if anyone was waiting at BW for a ride I didn't want them to wait longer. BW has some definite transportation issues. I've been there about 4 times and have *always* waited about 1/2 hour for bus. This time it really stunk though because we were trying to be at MK for our seat for SM parade. Ended up on Main street at about 8:30,no curb seats. Second row though. I'm trying to keep this post towards WL...I have more to post at trip boards.
-Oooh, No green ribbons
:( . I even had dd's and dh looking. The girls had ribbons in their hair each day and I had them on my waist pack. We were also sporting two jungle print stollers (also w/ribbons on the handle). So if Chances' Mom or ARS saw that...it was us. Oh one other funny thing. A lady had a lime green bandana on her stroller so I went up to her. She looked at me like I was nuts!lol!
Sorry so long...If you have any questions, please ask.
Duck

We didn't have to pay at the main gate, they had us on the list. Which reminds me...anyone who is driving to the resort,I think this will save on the aggegravation factor... The entrance to WL is to the far right, immediately after the main gate to MK. We missed it and had to go to MK parking and circle back around. We just wanted to get there! so the moral of the story...go to the far right at the main gate and the resort entrances are right after!
Duck

LOL about the lady with the green bandana!:p

We were at the other end of the Lodge (right near the front, over the registration desk), so that's probably why we didn't see each other!

Glad you had good luck with the boats, too. We had a car, so we drove everywhere except MK. I'm beginning to think that a car is the best bet, no matter where you stay.
Did your girls enjoy Spectro? It was one of the highlights of our trip. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was when the floats changed to all white lights--I loved it!

Did you get a chance to enjoy the pool and slide? This was also a big favorite with my DS. I was really happy that the pool was never too crowded. There were lots of nice kids playing everytime we were out there. Sorry we didn't see you!

When's your next trip?
:)

Yes kimmar067 very lucky we're not flying on an airplane, I thought about that one. My biggest concern about driving before my ear cleared was the dizzyness, since it'll be just dd and me it is a 3 hr drive, feeling much better today:)

Badgerfan-we stayed at the Dolphin around the holidays last year, but I just had to do a self tour of the WL, I think it's such a Christmasy place, with the beautiful tree and fireplaces, it really feels like the holidays there. You'll love it!

Bear Necessities-thanks for the well wishes! As I mentioned we are doing better (thank goodness!!) I think the countdown clock is a little off normally, (it shows 11PM as the next day which should be 12 midnite, the program is probably written for central time, plus we really aren't leaving til the next morning)--I tried to adjust it to our new departing day (tomorrow, Monday) but it didn't work so mentally..we're already there:) he he he!

Chance's Mom-thanks for the well wishes too, so glad you had a great trip!

Duckadoo-seems like you just left:( Oh well, maybe you guys are planning your next trip already:)!! I always had to remind dh to stay on his right when passing through the MK plaza, it is tricky. We tend to have dinner at Artist Point whenever we visit WDW (it's sooooo good, yummy)--and he'd always have to make that swurve to the right (look out for those buses!!!)

Everytime we go I always look for green ribbons and never see any (except during DISCON last year)...we always (always) have a green bandana tied to my dd's stroller:) Oh, hey, duckadoo that wasn't us, he he!!
