New Walt Disney Furniture from Drexel Heritage

I would really like to be able to buy furniture that I see in the deluxe lobbies. Unfortunately they are custom shops that have a licensing agreement only to sell to WDW, the stuff is expensive too. Some of the lighting elements at AKL are really nice, probably the same story there.

there is a store on ebay,...mouse surplus, that liquidates WDW leftovers. I got a great pillow from the GF, and some bulk fabric from the CR makeover. Sometimes they even have things from dismantled attractions...[I couldn't get DH to agree to Simba & Nala on the back of an 8' ostrich!] One caution, if you find something, you may want to google it to see if someone else carries it...I got a tiki styly lamp, and then found that I could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere. I tend to stick to the "exclusive" stuff.

I tried finding that store on ebay, no luck, do you have a direct link or is there a different store name?

So, what makes it Dinsey? (other than its expensive?)
Nothing about that entire line says "Disney" to me... :confused3

yeah, i know about the surplus store on ebay and follow their sales quite often. Perhaps one day they will have a piece i'm interested in!

This is the direct link to the mouse surplus store on ebay. If the link doesn't work, then go to ebay and do a search on disney furniture, go to the bottom of the page (past the featured listings) and scroll through the list until you see Mouse Surplus listed as the buyer and click on the image. Then you can go to the store.

JMHO: I think they were trying to build a line that Walt would have bought if he were alive today. The brown leather chair they showed by the staircase looks a lot like a chair they showed Walt sitting in, the fabrics they used were supposed to be the types of fabrics he wore and appealed to him. I also think it looks like good quality furniture that is meant to have timeless appeal. Some of it seemed like updated retro to me. Obviously, anything with the Disney branding is going to be expensive, but if it's quality that will stand the test of time, it might be worth it.

I also freely admit I don't know much about Drexel Heritage, other than it's supposed to be higher quality...If the pricing is in line with other furniture of the same quality then I don't have a problem with it being expensive (other than I might not buy it because I couldn't afford it, LOL:rotfl: ).
