LOL Duggas
congrats on booking your holiday... mine is not going so well........
I rang back Virgin to book the holiday and they say they can't sell the holiday at the price I've been quoted. I get (naturally) a little complainty (if there were such a word) and they say they'll ring me back.
Later that night they ring back and apologise for Britain, they don't know who gave that price, but as a gesture of goodwill they would do the holiday for £3979. I said thanks but no thanks I've just rung first choice and they said they'll do it for £3772. Virgin say they couldn't match that so goodbye.
I ring first choice back to book the holiday.... ask for the lady and her extention number, she's not working today. So new nice lady gives me a quote for £300 more. I patiently explain I already have a quote on their system and that I'd like to buy at that price. She says sorry we can't do that..... do you start to see a theme emerging here?
Off to the local travel agents I go - and they can't get below £4000.
So in despair husband says to me, just ring Virgin and say we'll take the £3979 quote. I ring back Virgin, 'oh sorry the lady who gave you the quote is off for the next 9 days. Maybe I can help.....'. Guess what? now the price is £4194!!!! I ask (quite reasonably I thought) why the price changes, and goes up, everytime you ring? I got the usual (very polite) sorry I don't know how they got that figure, we can only offer you this.
So the upshot is I've wasted the entire morning ringing and going to travel agents and I still have no holiday. I've decided to take my chances with DIY - it can't be any more hassle!
Sorry this moan is so long, just feel very frustrated!!!
