New VGF Bridge and Cost of Resale

I think the only time of the day when it could be popular is right after the fireworks, to avoid the long monorail line, but still, after a day on their feet, not many will have the strenght.

Comments like this are weird to me. Plenty of people work all day on their feet or go to the gym, and five miles of walking over a day is nothing. I mean, I get that isn't everyone, but "not many"? Maybe I'll be the only one on the VGF walkway with my monocle!

The walkway will only increase the value of VGF. Like another poster mentioned earlier but argued that it would not help the value, BCV and BWV values are incredibly higher than they would without their walking access to two parks. This is also assuming things go back to semi-normal again with the ability to park hop but even without it, being able to walk to and especially back from the MK at night would be amazing. Walking out and seeing the crazy long lines for the teensie boat, the monorail lines almost backed up to the gates at the MK; it will be a relief just to say I am on my way, I do not have to stand around and wait.

That walk is a drop in the bucket compared to a typical day in the parks for our family. More steps = more good vacation food intake :).

We recently purchased (caveat- still wtg ROFR) - the walkway is what sealed the deal for us. The PM walk back option is a huge plus for our situation. I read somewhere that it's .7 miles (approx 10 mins)... that being said- I know late at night stinks for yet more walking but that is nothing compared to the amount of steps you put in out and about at MK for several hours.

Having the option to walk is nice, however I don't expect the majority of people will use it, it's quite a hike. Especially from the Villas, which are on the opposite side of the resort. It’s estimated to be 5-10 minutes more than the Contemporary walkway. Compared to a day walking in the parks, it’s nothing...then waiting in the long lines for boats or monorails. I see people using the new walkway a lot. Some stats here:

I'll gladly push a 2 kid stroller that distance, both ways, to avoid the long waits at the monorail & boat stations. Even in the heat, it's better than sitting around waiting with 3 kids for something to show up.

The cool thing will be watching the Electric Water Pageant from the walkway.

I can see it raising the price. I hear a lot of people say BLT isn’t really their style, but the ability to walk to MK makes it one of their favourites. I think the ability to walk to MK will soon creep in to the narrative of selling features for VGF. And maybe even Poly? Much like BCV and BWV have “walk to 2 parks” in their pro list.

We are Poly owners and are pumped for the ability to walk to MK. According to the post linked above, the walk from Poly to MK will only be slightly longer than BCV to HS. When we stay at BCV we always walk to and from HS and don’t find it bad at all. I love being in control of my own pace and timing. My parents and in laws, though, will often do the boat depending on how they are feeling. So as always, I am glad Disney provides lots of transportation options to suit everyone’s needs.

Seems to me that it would help to increase it. Time will tell once we get back to normal. A third option with no lines sure cant hurt. I know I sure am looking froward to using it, mostly on returning to the Villas after the park closes!

I think it will increase desirability of VGF for a small group of people, but have little to no impact on resale price. They really should have done this years ago.

While the walkway is nice, i don't think it will impact resale at all. Bottom line is it is a great resort, ability to walk only adds to it. It will be nice at the end of teh night.

If more people are interested, even a small percentage, then it effects price. That said, it's unlikely to be a significant enough bump to see prices rise and attribute to the bridge. Might push a few bucks but be indistinguishable from normal price swings.

I am stalking resale right now to add on this year (I own at BLT) and BCV, BWV and VGC are the only ones I'm considering - almost exclusively because of their walkability to parks. Maybe it's because we already have direct experience enjoying and making use of this perk at BLT.
IMO Disney transport is getting to be more of a hassle every year it (or I'm getting older and more crotchety?).
We try to walk or drive more than ever before, hence the focus on 'close to park' resorts. For me, the new walkway increases VGF's value in my eyes all the more and makes me think about adding this option to the resales I'll consider - I also love the dining options here so I would even consider staying here over BLT to walk to MK.

I largely agree -- but I believe the walk is shorter than DHS to BCV -- which is right around a mile. I know that I will personally walk a mile, even at the end of the night, if it means I don't have to wait 20+ minutes for a bus/monorail/boat. Especially if I have a stroller for the kids. Without a stroller -- not sure which poison I'd pick. A tired 6 year old waiting 20 minutes in a crowd to board a monorail or boat is pretty miserable. At least if they're walking, they're less likely to ***** and moan -- plus they'll pass out as soon as we get back to the room.

I bet a lot of people will use it in the mornings as well, it gets annoying to have to wait for a space on the monorail in the early morning when trying to get to MK. It was so bad on our last trip we didn't even bother going to the monorail station in the morning, we headed for the boat launch first thing.

The monorail isn't bad most times but early morning and after fireworks it's pretty much useless for VGF guests.

pre-covid -- I found that one of the worst times was around 5 pm during December. Parks close early for Xmas parties -- so you get the MK crowd visiting the resorts for dinner -- plus all the people riding the monorail going to the party. Two days in a row, I had to wait 2 or 3 monorails just to get on.

a lot of people are lazy.

Go watch the walkway from DHS to BWV and BCV. It's not nearly as busy as it should be.
