First, given that DVC is good business for The Walt Disney Company, I think it's safe to say there will be another DVC resort after Saratoga Springs.
There are undoubtedly strategic planners and senior executives in Disney Vacation Development (DVD) who have plans. Maybe the plans have been approved by the execs in Burbank, California, and maybe not.
However, DVC guides, DVC front desk CM's, and DVC kiosk CMs don't know any more than we know. They hear rumors and repeat them just as we do on this board. The people who really know the plans are dealing with internal, confidential business plans, and they're not talking. Sometimes rumors are based on genuine leaks, but other times rumors are just speculation that takes on a life of its own.
DVD will issue a press release when the time is right probably when it can no longer be kept a secret because of the need to initiate timeshare registrations in various states and construction contracts.
As far as future off-site DVC resorts are concerned, I don't doubt there are people within DVD who would like to see such an expansion of DVC. There are probably business cases with spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations. But it won't happen unless execs in Burbank agree that it's the right investment for The Walt Disney Company.
