That doesn't surprise me, since they are the cheapest rooms, they would likely be the last to get renovated.

Not necessarily. They started with 5th floor standard back in Late January/early February of this year.(I was there and saw it.) As someone stated that is a small section of rooms so it was probably easier to block out.

But now I'm booked for standard studio Nov 1st. I don't want 5th floor. I want end of the building tennis court view 4th floor. This is an area I never have a problem getting, except maybe this visit coming up.

We just returned yesterday from the Boardwalk. Had the Grand Villa 5047 - it was just gorgeous. Posted some photos here - as I was so grateful for those who had posted grand villa photos previously. So beautiful - we were able to easily host a post wedding dessert party for about 40 people. They were working on the 4th and 2nd floors when we were there. Other family members hosted a welcome reception in the grand villa at Bay Lake Tower, and I've been a little concerned over how dated the Boardwalk decor was becoming, and the finishes were really looking worn. Most of the guests we had over thought that this was the nicest suite of rooms they had ever seen on Disney property. We've stayed at many of the DVC and luxury resorts at Disney - and I have to agree (although we have never stayed at Grand Floridian).

We're at BWV now (on the 2nd floor, BW view). (First time at F&W Festival!) Our 1BR room is refurbed and absolutely beautiful. We love the flooring, and everything looks so much more elegant. We are very pleased. Only complaint is the couch in the LR. It's kind of uncomfortable. You feel like you're sliding off of it. But, otherwise, great job DVC!

We arrived very late last night. I did a hike around the hallways this morning to see what is done. ALL BW VIEW ROOMS ARE FINISHED! We are very lucky because our room was just completed a few days ago. Since it is the only BW view HA 1 bedroom, we would have been displaced had it not been completed.

Regarding pool/garden view rooms: ALL ROOMS THAT ARE DOWN THE HALLWAYS THAT ARE STRAIGHT AHEAD AS YOU EXIT THE ELEVATORS ARE DONE EXCEPT FIRST FLOOR. On the first floor (the rooms that you get to by going outside and across the breezeway), rooms 1001-1027 are done (rooms farthest down the hallway). The rooms that are in the hallway closest to the breezeway are not done. Also, the rooms on 5th floor across from the standard view rooms are done. (These rooms are to the right as you exit the elevators.)

Regarding standard view rooms: only 5th floor is done. Crews are working on 4th floor, so a 3rd floor room would be very noisy.

Update 10-18-15 on 4th floor standard wing progress:
We are still here and I just walked over to check out the 4th floor standard wing. Even though the door is open, construction workers sent me out. I could see them working on painting doors (on a Sunday, so they are really hurrying to get this done). Since the new hallway carpet is down, I would assume they are doing finishing touches but the rooms will have to be cleaned and stocked. Maybe in a couple of days this wing will be ready.

Update 10-18-15 afternoon on 4th floor standard wing progress:
After the workers left I walked down the hallway. There is still significant painting to do and the hallway that turns right towards the quiet pool is not even carpeted. So it may be more than a couple of days before this wing is ready. Also, there is still a bunch of equipment on the lawn outside of the standard wing doing exterior work.

We are going next August and we have stayed at BWV 3x... We may stay there again but are hoping to be able to get a standard view because of the points.. Do you know where the HA rooms are located in the standard view section? Are they far off the elevator? We have always had a pool view which is great, overlooking the main pool and its right off elevator. If we are able to get the standard view we need a short walk from elevator.. I just dont want to book it if we can than realize it's too far away. THanks.

great. thanks. i wonder if they are in same spot just 2nd floor. it would make sense because it would be facing back of leaping libations.

Perhaps but I think it is more likely facing the driveway. But I have never stayed in a standard HA so I am only repeating what others have posted.

I agree with others that this looks like a nice improvement.

What has me worried (for our group anyway) is the apparent reduced size of the dinning table.

We often have a few meals in the villa and it looks like seating more than eight at the new table is going to be crowded.

Ah, good point, I did not notice that.

Yes, the chairs are bigger, and the bench is really long - but I think the table is a little shorter - maybe a bit wider. There are the two chairs at the breakfast bar that could easily be incorporated. I think you could seat 10 at the table - you could also use the small pull up benches around the sofa table in the center of the room. We only had 7, so it wasn't an issue.

You must mean the Pool/Garden HA faces leaping libations? The standard views face the other direction.

Floors 4 and 5 should for sure be done. Maybe 3. Request high floor.

Don't count on it. I requested village green on my trip a couple of years ago and ended up with pool view close to the elevator. I actually liked it.

Yes - I know it's only a request. I have had great success in my last 3 visits . . . of course, that could just mean I'm due to be disappointed.

The renovation is planned one with rooms previously blocked for it so the only relocations that seem to have been done were to a different view category at BWV.
