New Update 10-18-15 BWV refurb progress

We arrived very late last night. I did a hike around the hallways this morning to see what is done. ALL BW VIEW ROOMS ARE FINISHED! We are very lucky because our room was just completed a few days ago. Since it is the only BW view HA 1 bedroom, we would have been displaced had it not been completed.

Regarding pool/garden view rooms: ALL ROOMS THAT ARE DOWN THE HALLWAYS THAT ARE STRAIGHT AHEAD AS YOU EXIT THE ELEVATORS ARE DONE EXCEPT FIRST FLOOR. On the first floor (the rooms that you get to by going outside and across the breezeway), rooms 1001-1027 are done (rooms farthest down the hallway). The rooms that are in the hallway closest to the breezeway are not done. Also, the rooms on 5th floor across from the standard view rooms are done. (These rooms are to the right as you exit the elevators.)

Regarding standard view rooms: only 5th floor is done. Crews are working on 4th floor, so a 3rd floor room would be very noisy.

Update 10-18-15 on 4th floor standard wing progress:
We are still here and I just walked over to check out the 4th floor standard wing. Even though the door is open, construction workers sent me out. I could see them working on painting doors (on a Sunday, so they are really hurrying to get this done). Since the new hallway carpet is down, I would assume they are doing finishing touches but the rooms will have to be cleaned and stocked. Maybe in a couple of days this wing will be ready.

Update 10-18-15 afternoon on 4th floor standard wing progress:
After the workers left I walked down the hallway. There is still significant painting to do and the hallway that turns right towards the quiet pool is not even carpeted. So it may be more than a couple of days before this wing is ready. Also, there is still a bunch of equipment on the lawn outside of the standard wing doing exterior work.

Is the breezeway the area btw jelly rolls & atlantic dance hall?

Otherwise most pool garden view rooms have been renovated?

We have a quick trip next month over Thanksgiving in pool garden view & trying to get an idea what are chances are at getting a renovated room.

Breezeway is the outdoor "hallway" that goes from the main pool past the arcade and out towards the BW. There are quite a few pool/garden rooms across the hallway from the standard view rooms that are not finished. But a lot of pool/garden ARE done. If you get 5th floor, you're golden.

I was really surprised to see so much of the rehab done. With over 2 months left in 2015, I think that the end-of-year target will be close.
Carol, not only were we the first to use our renovated room but we were the first to drive a brand spanking new Town and Country minivan from Alamo. We were thrilled that it has leather seats because DH has trouble getting in cars with cloth seats. I always bring a heavy contractor plastic bag to cover his seat when we rent.
Bill, hope you like your renovated room. We like ours. Not very "themed" but change is fun.

That doesn't surprise me, since they are the cheapest rooms, they would likely be the last to get renovated.

I would expect that the standard views will be done last because more of them were booked 11 months out. These rooms are the hardest to get for F&W at the 7 month mark.

If you happen to go back online while on vacation or anyone else that can assist me with getting my bearings: So if you are in a pool view on the 4th floor (when you go straight off the elevator, which is kind of to the left) you are sharing the hallway with construction works coming in and out of the rooms across the hall, do I have that right? We have requested the standard tennis court view which does not have a 5th floor. Do you think they are working on the 4th floor in that area also? TIA!

The view you have requested will get you a non-renovated room that may also be noisy from construction (at least as of today). we had a 5th floor refurb std view studio Columbus Day weekend. we requested high floor & booked right at the 11month window. really liked the refurb rooms.

The thing about the 5th floor standard view is it's not as long as the building. The fifth floor ends at the first hallway on the right that goes along the pool. There are 4 lockoffs and 1 dedicated studio.

Don't count on it. I requested village green on my trip a couple of years ago and ended up with pool view close to the elevator. I actually liked it.
