“The health and safety of our guests and team members is always our top priority,” Universal said in a statement.

Universal Orlando Resort will now require team members to wear face coverings while working indoors starting Saturday.

Guests will not be required to wear masks inside but are encouraged to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and local directives to wear masks indoors across Universal Resort.

On Tuesday, Orange County saw the highest number of new COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Hoping to hear some trip reports of people going in the near future to see what happens for guests.

How might this effect HHN? Will scare actors dressed in costume have to wear a mask? Will they pull scare actors from the houses? We go second week in September. I would love to hear opinions on what this might mean for HHN? Are the shows inside or out? I have never been to HHN.

In PCDev’s most recent youtube vlog about HHN, he said that some platforms are visible at Universal hinting that actors might be on the platform to keep them away from the crowds

Is that those things over by the mummy labeled 1,2&3? Or is that something else?

Well indoors is better IMO then resort wide in or out. When inside at least your within an air conditioned environment most of the time. Me and my family are all fully vaccinated and prefer not to wear them if we don’t have to…..

It’s still 50% better I guess then our last 4 visits.

If they reimplement the requirements for guests also.

I suspect Universal will stick to this "Guests will not be required to wear masks inside but are encouraged to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and local directives to wear masks indoors across Universal Resort. " unless they see a good reason to change it.

I have had both shots but plan to wear my mask in the parks wherever I go

Inside or outside, I plan to have it on

no one needs to ageee with me, I never mine to be the lone wolf in the lines
:scratchinAs long as you don’t start howling at the moon, I don’t see an issue

Especially since cases are expected to decline within the next few weeks.

Are they?
They are. Florida’s R (rate of reproduction) rate fell day to day for the first time in weeks. Every state this has occurred in during the current Delta wave has continued decline after the first daily drop. The actual daily case rate usually takes about a week to reflect this. From my analysis Florida is at or near case peak and it will begin a fast decline within a week, similar to what occurred in the UK.

Most of the other National hotspots began their R decline earlier this week as well (Arkansas, Missouri, etc)

I almost can’t blame UO for not wanting to make their TMs have to police the inevitable guests who would refuse to comply with an indoor mask requirement if they did try to reinstate it. You couldn’t pay me enough for that job, and they’re having a hard enough time training and retaining staff as it is. Plus, they might pull in some Disney defector $$$. Win/win for Universal, less so for public health I guess.

Google it. There are numerous articles by top doctors stating this.
Mummy dust…more than a few on these boards are hoping that the UK timeline will carry thru here:wizard: I’ve seen credible estimates range from 1-1/2 to 3 more weeks to go. From their lips! Long as we get thru this.

U was much quicker that WDW to adjust/respond their protocols to the numbers dropping last go-round.

I always wonder why people spend so much time worrying about what other people are doing. Like - you do you.

... perhaps because it's a public health concern that affects other people. It's not like "other people" exist in a vacuum.

I'm not here to start an argument, but that's so disingenuous. Like yeah when someone's actions could affect my health or my family's health, I'm going to worry about what other people are doing. I lost my dad to this; the actions of others during a pandemic concern me.

I agree it's a public health concern. But there is nothing I can do about people not following the rules. All I can do is try to keep myself and my family as safe as possible (and I too have had family members die from this so I understand the seriousness). I will not stress myself over something I can't change - if you want to, have at it.
