Bonine is only "officially" approved down to 12. That being said, for a healthy normal sized younger kid, I would use it down to about 6. Used it on my own down to 8 I think.
Oh by the way, it is fairly rare for the real young kids to get motion sickness. For whatever reason it doesn't get very common until around 10. Younger one can have motion sickness, but not nearly as common as in adults.

first cruise, I did not get sea sick at all - I was taking Claritin every
day for my allergies - On my second cruise - I did get sea sick - No claritin taken (but luckily I did have Dramamine)
DH and I have allergy problems usually during the time of the year when we cruise. Loratidine has always done the trick for us. Also like brompheniramine and chlorpheniramine when I want something shorter acting (or when DH needs a booster dose on a really bad day)
