New trip never been - please help (Thank you)

That seems an awful lot...

Granted we're only going for 14 days, but including flights and tickets ours is £2400 at a Deluxe WDW resort.

Yeah, they are via Detroit, makes the flights like 11 hours, but seems OK to me, we land at like 4 in the afternoon, so I thought they were pretty good timing for arrival day. :)

Careful with flying into sanford.

If you aren't renting a car it can be tricky getting to the hotels. (so i've heard)

I prefered Sanford was way much quicker gettin out of the airport and the transfers were fine =)

You can get cheaper direct flights my virgin ones are £295 for this September I just got them in a flight sale

We have booked DIY - £590 direct Virgin flights

14 nights Coronado Springs Resort (king room), 14 night ultimate tickets, disney dining plan (2 meals a day and snack) = £1900

This works out as £2500 for 2 of us - and this will include all our food for the trip :)

Wow you got a really good deal with the flights then too. I know the flights for 2010 won't be out until Nov but when do they have the sales?

I still not sure what to do:confused3... if CSR was showing on the website with free dining now I think I would go with that and book it all DIY. As I'm pretty sure we would get flights for cheaper than what they are as part of a package with virgin.

The virgin package works out £140 more each to what I've guessed a DIY trip would cost but my bf is swayed more towards booking it alltogether.

I was lucky as we decided to go in the middle of the Virgin flight sale - we only booked in Jan and are going this September. We booked the hotel on the buy 10 for 14 offer (the current free DDP offer works out at the same price).

I would be tempted to wait - but I know you want to get booked up! There always seems to be pretty good indirect prices if you couldnt get good direct ones :thumbsup2

I am swayed more towards a package just because then I know its all sorted and I only have one number to ring if I need to change any thing. This is what I have got from Disney ….

£3420.91

That’s
3 weeks stay at pop
3 Weeks pass to Disney
2 Weeks Flex Ticket
And Discovery Cove.

Would it make more sense to wait and see if I can get cheaper flights direct with virgin…let me know what you think.

Thanks again

I just phoned disney to see what the deal was with CSR and the lady said that all the hotels should be added at the end of month online but when she went to quote CSR wasnt available :sad2: she said they only were given a very small allocation for next year for this hotel so if we want to stay there it looks like we'll have to go for a package. We've decided to hold out until the end of month and see if it appears online- Fingers crossed...

Sorry to take over your thread.

How much do your flights work out as then?

It would be so much easier is the flights were released earlier :rolleyes1 Nov is to long to wait LOL

I can not remember how much the flights were it looked a good price to me but I have never been.

When are you going in sep where you staying??? How much have you got a quote for?

We're looking at going 28th Sept for 16nights- We would like to stay at Coronado Springs Resort.

Doing DIY -I'm working on £800 direct flights prob with virgin(for the two of us) then the hotel/Disney tickets and free dining should be round £1982 direct with disney so £2782 total BUT I'm sure I could get the flights abit cheaper than that from what everyone has said.

With Virgin Holidays the same hotel/Disney tickets/free dining and flights its £3088

We then plan to buy Seaworld, Universal and some show tickets separately.

Well I think you have pushed me to DIY the results speak for them self:thumbsup2

With Disney
- POP hotel – 21 Day Disney Park –Virgin Flights
= £2700

DIY
-POP Hotel -21 Day Park -£800 for Flights
= £2298

-Port Orleans Hotel -21 Day Park -£800 for Flights –Free DDP:wizard:
=£2998

So I think it will be option 3. My question to you though is how easy is it to book flights could it be the case that I can not get a flight when I have booked my stay. Will they be any more expensive then £800. What is the best way to get from the airport to the hotel as we wont be getting the magical express.

Big thank you to every one you really have helped me so so much so thank you!

I would look into when the free dining offer ends, personally I like to book my flights 1st. You can save £50-100pp by being flexible. You have set days, say Saturday to Saturday and chances are you will pay more than someone that leaves it open to booking any day offers are available.

Have you looked at unprading the free DDP? at a moderate you will get Quick service DDP, for about £4-5pppd you can upgrade to regular DDP, worth every penny to me, I could not eat 21 days of quick service food.

Why not Magical Express? its free to anyone staying in a Disney resort. Another option would be taxi, $50-60+ tip each way.

Yes typing it all out makes me want to book it DIY and save the extra too...

When I was looking last year flights for the end of Sept came out at the end of Oct begining of Nov- they were £360 each then..... Now they are £539 or as cheap as £476 if you change your dates about (this is from Manchester flying with virgin)

What I had planned to do was book the hotel and then book the flight in Nov when they come out- there is no gurantee they that price but it look likely looking at last years prices...... Also if flight are cheaper for different days I believe you can change the dates around on the hotel book but they may be a £25 fee.

I believe the ME buses are free to anyone staying in a disney hotel so you could use that option it you wanted I imagine its the easiest way.

I have read you have to book before 31st December 2009 for 2010 so you could therefore wait until the flights come out and book it all then.
