(NEW TR LINK) Mickey MMMouse,McDonald Duck& Memo: 12 Days & 13.1 Miles. Nov 2013 TR

I've basically got my husband convinced to let me do a weekend in Disney for GSC 2015. That should be the last 5%, right? :thumbsup2

(Anyone wanna split a hotel room? :rotfl: )

I don't have my husband convinced..but that's because I havn't told him. Figured maybe January of next year will be a good time to spring that on him. Right when he's booking his Canada fishing trip.

Damn right that's the last 5%. We have midwest representing! Karen, Imbri & Nicole! Woo. Who's bringing the pop?

I will need to split a hotel room - yes... I have one lady on my cruise board who is pretty much 100% in too- she's awesome & sarcastic.. and so..therefore, I gel well with her (oh, that rhymed).

Gosh I hope we all are not all serial killers.

OMG...I bring up my dh yearly men's (cousins) fishing trip to Cabo everytime he says something about me wanting to plan a girls trip somewhere. Now if he said Canada or Alaska fishing...well he knew he would be taking me! Great move...

Not serial killers...just crazy ladies looking for an excuse to go to Disney...and if it means running 13.1 miles or more we will do it! :rotfl2:

She gets me. I like this site. I'm among friends here. :rotfl:

I saw the title of your PTR...and thought...oh my there is another person out there like me...I had to develop a very detailed plot to get my DH to agree to a girls trip...and I had to run too...will run for dole whips, cupcakes and Disney trips!

I need a pick me up.. my poor little puppy is super sick and fighting for her life tonight. Apparently (unknown to us) she ate some rat poison a few days ago when she ran out in our garage. We didn't even know she was out there or that we had it.. it was years and years old... She got so sick today and we didn't know why- took her in and that's what they suspected. We searched out our garage and found an old box.. she's in critical care- getting plasma and blood transfusions and fighting for her life. 50/50 chance at this time. So sad....... need to get my mind off it........ Vet said if she makes it through tonight then she has a good, fighting chance. Please keep your fingers crossed for my little pup.

So with that cheery intro... (boo) I'll try to bring some magic into my night- by transferring myself into the circus.

Ironically, the circus itself with clowns gives me the heebie jeebies- so perhaps not the BEST subject.. but alas..this is where we land in our hour by hour blow of my vacation that never seems to end (in this Trip Report!).

I digress. As I usually do... so we finished up our first hour at Little Mermaid and decided to head Eastward into the land of the circus. Destination: Dumbo- the flying elephant....

I think these gals are ready for their careers in the circus. Or to quote one of my favorite movies "The girl is in the clinic getting cured off the wild Turkey and the boy, bless his heart, is preparing for his career".. " College". "Nope, carnival. He's barking for the yak woman but hopes to move up to pixie dust spreader on the tilt a whirl". (that is classic National Lampoons Christmas Vacation- monologue by Eddie- who our pug is named after!).

I have to admit- despite my reservations regarding this theme- I feel this area is VERY well done. They tracks in the cement, the elephant footprints, the tents, the colors. I found myself liking it far more than I thought I would.

Where to first? Well, Dumbo. Of course!

Sarah with her buddy- Peter's DD...

Into the tent we went..
"Have you Ever Seen an Elephant Fly?"

Ok, Ok.. I admit it again. I like the little indoor play area at Dumbo. And my kids loved it too.

There's two of them above the Human Cannonball (in the net area).

Char was happy putting out fires in the main ring....

I think she was mad at me because I told her to stop telling the little boy next to her to get out of her car.

With no lines, no waits.. it was not long before we riding that flying elephant.

This is how we started.

And this..is how we ended...

They wouldn't let Char sit with Becca. Apparently many older siblings have attempted to throw their younger, more annoying siblings out of the flying elephant. So they instituted rules. I tried to tell them the two siblings that would attempt that were not sitting together currently (Sarah & Becca) but Disney stuck to their rules. In mommy had to ride with Char Char.

No kids got thrown out of elephants on this ride. Phew, because it was a close call.

From here we moved to what will like always be my kids favorite ride despite the fact it's approx. 2.3 nanoseconds long.

Goofy's Barnstormer. Now known as The Great Goofini. My kids seriously have a love affair with this ride. Theming is cute- so whatevs...

This was to be Charlie's FIRST coaster. (She survived ToT- so she would survive this.. but would she like it?)

Becca was getting lippy so I sent her here....

ANd before I knew it, I was cramed in the worlds most uncomfortable seat ever. Literally, this ride is made for 3 year olds and only 3 year olds. Not 5'10 adults. Just sayin'. Ouch Disney- OUCH.

2.5 nanoseconds later..what's the verdict?

Yhea, this girl LOVED it.

That, my friends, is a genuine Char smile! The heart-melter kind!

Coming off - with my Hidden Mickey book in hand- I went searching. Found a few, including this one... see it?

It's in the clouds- behind the giraffe.

At this point- I'm pretty sure some whining happened about food. And I'm pretty sure the girls got some goodies...

I was holding out for a Dole Whip later on. I passed!

These next pics were not necessarily in the order of events. I think we went back later to get them. But they fit the theme & so I'm throwing in here. I can do that- because - well, it's my trip report.

I'm a big fan of Donald. He's crabby. I'm crabby. We are a good pair. So the kids had to go meet him...

And I made the hubs get a picture with me. Because he needs another crabby person in his life.. and a photo to document it.....

From there we moved to the Goof-meister himself....

Char, Char, Char.. with the fake smile.

Again - I'll admit, I like the backdrops here & the theme.

We skipped getting back in line to meet Minnie & Daisy (lines were longer) and instead explored the big top store. Specifically the sugar section (ahem- remember my addiction problem)

No sugar was purchased at this time despite the salivating Dis-Freak on the other side of the glass panel (ahem- moi).

And how adorably cute is this pin trading station? Popcorn? Oh yes. Disney got the theming down very well indeed....

I was impressed by an area I was not expected to be impressed by. Kudos Disney. Kudos.

And that leaves me to the end of my circus adventures. The children had not been sold yet into the circus (nor had the mother- we were negotiating with the pirates still)... we moved forward with our day...

And another hour has passed (you realize we are not even at lunch yet, right?). Granted, we had a late lunch!

I am so so sorry to hear about your puppy! that is so sad and I will be keeping my fingers crossed for sure! I hope your TR helped to cheer you up a little....

we liked the circus themeing too. we're not huge circus fans but I think the area is cute and we liked the footprints and peanuts in the cement.

why is that barnstormer ride so crazy short? it is so not worth the wait to me!

beautiful smile, Charlie!!

i'm glad no children were lost during the dumbo ride! whew!! :rotfl:

those snowman apples are adorable! I love all the apples they make there, but I can't say that I've ever seen anybody eating one. do you think anyone ever buys them?

aaannnddd--now I want a mickey ice cream bar.... :mickeybar

In all seriousness...
I hope your pup is pulling through this morning! I had a client's dog do a similar thing and she made it! :lovestruc (end of serious response...)

Uh, you are 5'10"??? We really are twins. :hyper:

Wait, let me go back and look at whatever else I was going to comment on, that seemed to be the only thing I remembered. ;)

Donald, crabby=favorite...YES! :thumbsup2

Boy, they sure are cracking down on the rules on Dumbo! First no dancing and now no throwing siblings out? They are taking all the fun out of that ride. :lmao:

Oh and just keep posting those F^*$&#( cupcake shots when I just got home from Disney and I'm trying to lose the 10 freaking pounds I gained Nicole. Thanks bunches! :rolleyes2

I really like the Dumbo/Circus area as well and didn't think I would. Great for photos...ya know, when you are the photopolice, you have to walk the talk. :p

Love the big smile from Charlie! :lovestruc (look, I was serious twice in a post. I should get a cookie! or a cupcake...grrr)

Sending lots of love, prayers and pixiedust: for your puppy!

I am not a fan of circus theme either and apparently I was too busy this fall trying to fill my trick or treat bag that I did not catch all the theming...going to have to fix that next trip! As for the Dumbo ride, same thing happened to us on the teacups...I sent the kids to ride while I waited and guess who ended up on them...UGH! Not my favorite ride with 2 boys at the wheel.

Yay Mickey Bars! I too drooled all over the display case in the Big Top Gifts! Someday I am going to get me one of the apples...but next trip has to be a cupcake!

First off- morning update on the pup. I called at 6am & she made it through the night. That was the critical time & vet said if she did pull through the night she had a good fighting chance. This morning she was wagging her tail & licking the 'nurse'. I am choosing to take this as a good sign that my little pup will indeed recover.

On a side note- things I never knew existed.. ICU units for dogs. Blood/Plasma transfusions for dogs (as Becca asked, how do they get that blood? Doggie blood drives? Excellent question- I had no answer!). Do not recessitate papers for dogs. (As I stated to my husband, I can't believe I'm signing this for a dog.. I don't even have one signed FOR ME).

And also my kids can't go to college now. Because we paid for all the above! :lmao:

I look at thoes apples ALL the time.. they are so cool. Once, in Disneyland, back in 2011, my girls and I bought a Jack Skellington one and split it three ways. It was nowhere near as good tasting as it looked... So now we just look & take pictures! Well I do- my kids don't care....

After my last night- I want 15 Mickey Bars. Somehow my oatmeal isn't going to cut it this AM!

In all seriousness...

I really thought we established we are sisters from another mother already? Yes, I'm really 5'10. I guess I didn't know you were that tall though... Sarcastic TALL people that arrive 3 hours earlier than scheduled time.. unite! :cheer2:

Shoot, I'm all for sharing cookies and cupcakes. Sugar is, after all, my mantra I live by. I run for sugar. So I can eat it. Like the addict I am.....

Sending lots of love, prayers and pixiedust: for your puppy!

Ugg- I hate the teacups- instantly sick on those things. I won't ride with my kids. But they have never made me either... I guess I got lucky. Although this trip when we rode, I took Charlie on it alone & made the other two go in their own teacup.

Cupcakes, Cookies, Chocolate crossiant at Gaston's Tavern, Butterbeer (wait, what? How'd that get in there?), Dole Whips, Mickey Bars. So many, many wonderful things to eat at Disney...........

Hey, I know a good weekend to go as adult only! Join us at the ToT of weekend - we are sans kids!

Thanks for reminding me I have to do my taxes too. I meant to get everything together for this weekend & that didn't happen.

Oh - that would be a great idea - we are only a week apart - but we booked bounce back to take advantage of free dining, and we booked the last possible weekend that we could. So, unless we end up still able to move it a week and get the free dining, we probably can't. (I also am hoping our trip will co-incide with the next ConGaloosh - which is a get together folks have each year to celebrate the Adventurer's club.)

I did the preliminary taxes and was shocked at how BIG our refund looks - as in thousands. If it pans out, it might bump our trip from "doubtful" to "possible".

Sarah with her buddy- Peter's DD...

Another pic you have to send me - I wonder if I can just download from Photobucket. Gotta try that.

Goofy's Barnstormer. Now known as The Great Goofini. My kids seriously have a love affair with this ride. Theming is cute- so whatevs...

DD and I sat out, I see DWs picture in there. I was glad the line was short, I don't mind the ride, but as you say, 23 seconds is generous.

These next pics were not necessarily in the order of events. I think we went back later to get them. But they fit the theme & so I'm throwing in here. I can do that- because - well, it's my trip report.

They definitely were later, because we were still together after the ice cream treats, at least for a little while. I think we're back to being tied. I gotta get to my update!

Oh, I am soooo happy to hear the good news about your puppy. It's heartbraking when our fur babies are sick! Or our feathered babies. Keep us posted, but it sounds as though she's made it through the roughest period. Phew!

Love Char Char's genuine smile. Yes, it does warm my heart. She's so stinking cute!

Yep, you and Karen would definitely be considered "Sarcastic Princesses" -- no doubt about that one. I'm feeling so left out that I've decided to train for the Princess 1/2, too!! NAH, there is no way in heck my body would hold out for that one. I'm too big to be able to do it without having a heart attack. Now if one of you would be willing to push me in a wheel chair around the course, then we'd have a deal!!! :lmao: OMG Nicole, you MUST be Elsa!! And your hubby can be Olaf! Yes!!! That would be outstanding!!!

Now you've got me really curious as to whether a sibling has actually pushed another sibling out of Dumbo. I've never read anything about it, but you never know. Those darned rules! What about pushing husbands out? Any rules against that one? :thumbsup2

Yeah, thank you for posting treat pictures. I'm now trying to do the old "low carb" eating and you go and post something like that! Ugh! I had a doctor's appointment 2 weeks ago and they were going to put me on mealtime, fast-acting insulin instead of the insulin I'm on now. Nope. I refused it. I don't want to continue down the road like that, so the dr made a deal that if I can get my numbers to be acceptable by the time I go see her again (March 14th) I can stick to the meds I'm already taking. Well for me to get my numbers in the normal range it means very very few carbs. It's been so hard, but the numbers are responding accordingly, so I suppose it's good. I just can't imagine living the rest of my life like this.....oooppps.....this is your TR and I just went on a tangent.....sorry!!!

Are you serious that you are 5'10"?? OMG you are sooo going to laugh at little shortie pants here as I'm only 5'3" (on a good day!) When we meet up the picture is going to look funny!!! You'll have to scooch!! And when we are with Karen you two can just "bookend" me!!! :rotfl2:

Drat I was hoping Free Dining might come out for my weekend... but then again, I don't think I'm eligible for it when I book RunDisney packages because they are so discounted.

I'm still holding off on the conversation to the girls that Dad & I are going to Disney without them. They will not be amused. Hahahahahahaha!!!

Maybe you should just mail me a flash drive & I'll put the pics on there and mail it back. :) Might be the easist.. ..

I think your DD got out of line for Goofy because she was hungry- and I think we went back to Storybook when we had a few mintues to kill prior to our lunch ressie- I think... perhaps this is why I should journal at the time of the vacation......... Hahahahahaha!

Little Pup is lucky little pup. She seems to pulled through the worst and the vet is very optomostic she will recover. She even ate a little bit a little bit ago! They are keeping her in doggie ICU one more night to keep her on an IV and get a clotting drug in her before releasing... but at least she will come home! Phew.... talk about stress. Poor Puppy....

I am thinking Elsa for PHM- not for ToT. I want villian for ToT- I think. I tried to convince DH to do the siamise cats from Lady and the Tramp. He said no way in h#ll! I'm sure a divorce would be in the works if I ever suggested to him he be Olaf.

I completely made up the reason of 'pushing sibling out' of Dumbo as the excuse. The real excuse they told me was 'safety'. Now, pushing DH's out- that's another story.... I knew there was a reason he didn't want to ride Dumbo with me. Hahahahahahaha!

YOU GO GIRL taking control of your diet! That is awesome news. And I apologize for any tempting Disney food p#rn pictures.

yay puppy made it through the night...I so understand about emergency vet bills...we had to deal with parvo a few years ago! UGH...

And I would gladly take a butter beer right now if you spike it!

When we didn't know what was going on yesterday- my thought was actually parvo. We had a friend go through that too with their dog & their vet bills were staggering.

Wait..what?! Spiked butter beer? Um..why don't they have that at Universal. Seems a surefire seller? Get it together Universal. Get it together!!!
:drinking1

I'm glad puppy made it through the night! Wishing a speedy recovery!

I want spiked butterbeer now too. I just saw a post about Dole whip now being avaliable at EPCOT and you could get rum added to it! Why wasn't it there 2 weeks ago???

Tried the spiked Dole whip at F&W...the crème something or other...ICK! But rum or coconut...:thumbsup2

Butterscotch schnapps might work in a butter beer...oh I so need my Harry and Ron fix and next February the expanision will have the bugs worked out!

Glad it was not parvo...our puppy made it to the tune of about $1000 luckily I caught it at the first sign. She had her shots the day before she got sick. UGH...darn hunting dog she was expensive to begin with!

Oh, I saw something about this too & totally forgot...... hmmm, I will seek that out at ToT weekend!!

I would love to work in Harry fix too in Feb but thinking it won't happen. It'll kill me not to go though both in October and Feb.....

Well, I guess rat poison beats parvo in the cost department. Our dog made it home to the tune of 2K. I try not to think of it. We are calling her our multi-million dog. She was a rescue and ended up costing more than our purebred pug! :)
