New to this...

We will be in WDW for 6 nights in August...(18-24)...the first 3 nights we will be staying at Poly GVC, so I am just going to pay for those nights...the last 3 nights (sun,mon,tues) we'll be at the BWV...we usually rent the 1 bedroom units there, but now I am starting to learn about the point rentals here...I do have a few questions though...First off, are there any other fees involved other than the point rental? (taxes etc)...secondly, how do I know if there are units available at the BWV for rental?...I don't want to but points and then find out there are no units available...last question (for now)...I see that the Grand Villa for those 3 nights would be 88 points a night...so 3 nights would be 264 points...I have seen up to 250 points for sale from any one seller...if I bought the 250 points, how would I get the reamining 24 points to cover it??...do I have to buy 24 points from another person??...Thanks for all info!!

No, no extra fees...you would pay the member you rent from X amount of $$ per point for the rental (i.e. if you rent 100 pts at $10 per point it would cost $1,000.00).

secondly, how do I know if there are units available at the BWV for rental?...I don't want to but points and then find out there are no units available.

When you rent the points, the member you rent from retains complete and total control over the ressie...they would first check availibility before renting you the points and if available, will then rent you the points, and make a reservation for you under their DVC acct. but in your name. So you wouldn't be able to just "buy" the points and then make your own ressie (unless you are already a DVC member and have those pts transferred into your acct. ~ but obviously you are not a member).

points are booked at X amount of points per night, per villa size,per resort,per time of year...you would only rent the amount of points to cover the nights you need (you would rent 176 pts from someone and then another 88pts from someone else ~ IF YOU HAD TO but not 250pts and then an extra 24pts.) It would be MUCH better to rent the entire 264pts from one member though as you would need to make separate reservations under 2 different members acct's if you couldn't get all the points from one member. Which will mean you will most likely have to check out and then back in again and probably would have to move...unless they are able to link those ressies together. In either case though, it would be MUCH MUCH easier to just rent all the points from one person and only have to deal with 1 points rental. Also, GV's can be extremely hard to come by ....they only have a certain amount at BWV's so if that's what you're looking for I'd start looking ASAP.
