I am looking to make my first e-bay listing for some maternity clothes, and I'm already SO confused! :confused3 I do not know what to enter for payment methods. I have a personal paypal account, but not a premier or business account to accept credit cards. But I only see one option where it asks for payment methods for paypal, and it shows credit cards as being accepted. Do I leave the box checked for paypal or not since I am unable to accept credit cards? How else can I let the buyer know I accept paypal? Or do I NEED to have a premier account - I am SO confused! If anyone has any other tips for a first-timer, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You have no choice but to accept credit card payments with paypal on ebay.

You used to bne able to put in your auction that you accept non-credit payment only. They do not let you do that anymore. Its all or none :guilty:

You CAN'T advertise in your auction that you accept Paypal unless you also accept Paypal credit card payments (which means you must upgrade your account and pay the assocaited fees with each payment that you accept). You CAN email the winning bidder after the close of the auction and give them the Paypal payment option.

Just remember that with a personal Paypal account, there is a limit to the amount of money you can accept before your account will be blocked for more payments for that month [See below from Paypal's help section]:

Is there a limit to the amount of payments Personal accounts can receive?

Yes. Depending on the primary currency of the Personal account, the receiving limit is $500.00 USD, $650.00 CAD, €500.00 EUR, or £250.00 GBP. (The receiving limit is based on the primary currency of the account. If you receive payments in more than one currency, your limit will be calculated based on the total amount you receive each month after the amount is converted into your primary currency.)

The receiving limit applies to the following payment types: eBay Items, Auction Non-eBay, and Goods-Other (Website sales). All applicable payments which exceed the monthly limit will be placed in accept/deny status until you upgrade your account to receive the payments or you choose to deny them. If no action is taken, the payment is returned to the buyer after 30 days. The limit is reset monthly on the anniversary of your sign up date.
