If you are a veteran at this, would you mind answering some questions. I'm a veteran when it comes to everything else about the world as I've been going regularly since the age of 3, but this is all new territory to me. I've searched this site and I'm not sure how to get some straight answers. I'm planning a trip to Disney World for our daughter's 4th birthday in 2009. The grandparents are coming so we need 3 seperate rooms. I don't think we can afford to do a grand villa, so I thought we could do 3 studio rooms. My questions is this: What are my chances of getting 3 rooms in the same resort (any resort) if I purchase/rent points from a member. I understand that we cannot book until 11 months prior. How does this work--HELP!!

for a larger resort, like OKW or SSR, i would guess your chances are excellent at 10-11 months. otherwise, if you have a DVC member ready to book at 10-11 months, you've still got a good shot as long as you're not looking for BWV standard view or something like that...

there's no telling if they will be near each other, though...(and there is no such thing as "adjoining studios.")

BTW. here's a must-read thread for potential renters:

If you stayed in a 2 bedroom, you have two separate bedrooms, plus the main living room area has a pull out. Could that work for you?

:crazy2: At the risk of sharing too much info, the grandfathers SNORE. I'm not sure that I could keep my insanity after 7 days (although wonderful) at the world, and chasing after a 4 year old, then sleepless nights. That's why I was hoping for 3 completely seperate rooms.

With a two bedroom villa the master bedroom and the second bedroom are completely separate. The second bedroom is really a studio. You would have the living room in between. The 4 year old could sleep on the pull out sofa in the living room. With the doors closed it would be as quiet as having adjoining rooms.

If you reserve a 2 BR, ask for a lockoff. Essentially, a lockoff is a 1BR unit right next to a studio unit. If you keep the "adjoining" door shut, the grandparents still would have their own entrance to their portion of the unit, without even having to come in through yours. Would be just like having two units (because it is two units!) HTH.

Thank you so much for the info. I find that everyone is very knowledgable about this. My husband and I hope to join the DVC family soon. Until then, I will have to rely on you all to help me along!! Thanks again.

We went this past Thanksgiving week. We rented points from 2 different people , we had 4 studios, which i found was a better way to go. It was cheaper than a 1 or 2 bedroom villa, had a lot of room for us, we booked at 11 months out and we all got BOARDWALK VIEW STUDIOS 2 on the 4th floor and 2 on the 5th floor...they were great! we had 12 of us which we could have done a 3 bedroom villa, but it was way more expensive for that and we loved the studios. good luck and have fun! we are going to rent again for feb. 2009!
