we're thinking about renting points next for December. I was looking at the point chart and saw a concierge level at animal kingdom lodge. Is there a similar level through Dvc for wilderness? If so, can someone tell me the point rates per night and week for early December? Thanks!

ILIKEWDW is correct. There is no concierge level that can be booked on points at VWL. Points cannot be used at WL.

Early December is one of the toughest times to get a DVC reservation. Most members book their's 11 months out. Some categories may be booked by the the first week of January.

DVC points can be used at GF, but the point costs are extreme, and there's a $95 fee for trading out of the DVC system. You'll do much better with an AP discount or one of Disney's packages.

Renting a reservation from a DVC member is only a good value if you're booking at a DVC resort.

The only DVC with monorail will be BLT, but will open until september '09, and as Lynne said, you can use points at GF, Poly, but it is so expensive.

If you could wait until BLT opens next year, it will fit what you want in a resort, but it will not have concierge level.

Grand Floridian and Poly have Concierge Club and monorail.

Thanks so much!

If I rent points, is there a contract? Does that depend on the owner? The reason I am asking is because I am thinking about next December, but I am pregnant, so the baby will be about 4 mos. I am still a bit worried about this and would hate to have to cancel.

This is an agreement between you and an individual member. Many don't refund if you have to cancel. Many require full payment after confirmation is received. Some will allow you to pay it out and some will work with you to reschedule if you have to cancel. But don't count on it.

Renting really isn't a good idea of your plans aren't firm, or if there's a fair chance you may have to cancel.

Cancellations can be complicated with DVC reservations, and depending on a number of variables including how close you are to your arrival date, and the owner's use year, they may be at risk of losing their points if you cancel. For this reason, many if not most owners do not allow changes or cancellations.

It's best to assume that you will NOT get any of your money back if you have to cancel.
