Hi, I am new to DVC, we are in Escrow now. I have been reading these boards the last couple of days and I have seen DVC discount and talk about a DDE card????? Please explain. Any help is appreciated.

Disney Dining Experience. It is available to Annual Passholders and Fla. residents. It gives a 20% discount at most sit-down resturants at WDW.

DDE = Disney Dining Experience. It's a discount dining program that gives the cardholder 20% off food and beverages (including alcoholic) at many WDW restaurants. Prior to this year, it was only available to Florida residents. This year, it was made available to AP/PAP passholders. T

The DDE card costs $75 for FL residents and $50 for AP/PAP passholders. It is good for a year.

Many DVC members are AP/PAP passholders especially siince DVC now offers its members a significant discount on AP/PAP tickets. Thus the interest in the DDE program.

Best wishes -

Thanks for the info.

Is there a list of restaraunts that take it? How many people is it good for??? Where to you purchase it?

Thanks!

I was just wondering..... We are planning a trip for January 2006. We plan on buying APs because we are also headed there in Dec.2006. We can't phsically pick up our passes until we get to WDW in Jan. I want to get the DDE card for that trip. If we buy the passes before we go, do they expire from first picked up or the date you bought them? Can you get the DDE with just purchasing the Ap and not having picked it up yet?? Any help is appreciated.

Your AP will expire one year from the day you actually pick it up at WDW.

And yes, when you order the AP, they will send you a voucher for it. You can then call and purchase the DDE using the numbers on the AP voucher. But I think you have to have that voucher actually in your hand when you purchase the DDE.

The DDE is supposed to be a one-year card, but I think they have been making them 13 months from the manufacture date of the cards. So some clever folks have been ordering the DDE at the last minute, getting an emailed or faxed confirmation of the DDE, and then using that document on their first trip. Then, when they get home, they receive a DDE card which has 13 more months left on it. That might or might not be important, depending on when you were planning to visit on subsequent trips.

We used the DDE card (actually 81/2 by 11 page) for our trip in April. there were 9 of us (i think you can only use it for up to 10 people?). On our first dinner we saved $30.00 (card cost $50.00). Was even able to use it for coctails at the bar at the ESPN Zone. There is a wide variety of restuarants that the card can be used at.

For me it was a GREAT investment. Will be back at wdw in August, October and December.

You are all sooooo helpful. Ten of us will be traveling in Dec. 2006. It sounds like it will really help us. Plus we usually have one alcoholic beverage a piece at dinner time while we are there.(You would to if you traveled with 5 small children cross country!) I think we will more than make our money back!
