New to Disney Cruising- What do I need to pack?

We are a family of two adults and four children. Is there anything special I need to pack. I hear about hawaiian shirts, pirate attire, formal nights, etc., but will we need any of this on the three day cruise?

What will the Bahamas be like at Thanksgiving time?

A lot of people do take tropical or pirate wear because they do have a "pirate night" on the 3 night cruise. It's basically a night where the restaurants all have pirate themed menus, and then they have a pirate deck party after dinner with a fireworks show. I know that the 4 night has a dessert buffet that night as well, but I'm not completely sure if the 3 night has it or not.
To be honest, some people just wear their plain clothes as they normally would, and we did the same. I guess I just don't get into the "pirate" theme too much, and it might be different if we had kids, but right now I don't. And we didn't feel out of place at all. You'll find that everyone pretty much does their own thing as far as how they dress for dinner. Some people keep it as simple as possible, and some people go all out, but somehow with all the Magic and Wonder, it all seems to go together, and everyone is happy!!

Make sure you take things like sunblock, and swim diapers if you have a younger child who is not potty trained yet. They do sell these things on board, but supply is limited and sells out quickly. Don't worry, everyone over packs the first time. Pirate night is the big thing right now on the ships. The weather is generally warm, but sometimes it can be very windy on deck, and cool inside in theevening in the clubs. Lots of people take a light wind breaker or one sweater, just in case. Remember if your cruise is during the summer, it will be the rainy season. The rain is warm, but it's still wet and can dump buckets. The showrs usually pass quickly, but with kids you might want to think about that too.
