Hi All!

This is my first post on DIS! I have only just joined, but I have been on here for a few weeks pouring through pages to help make our decision on resort, use year, direct/resale, etc.

Anyway, I just wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who spent their time breaking down all the different aspects of purchasing DVC on this forum! There is a wealth of information on here because of you and I greatly appreciate it! We still have a little bit of deciding to do while we finish saving, but we are well on our way!

Thanks! I have been doing the research on and off for over a year. My wife wasn’t totally sold until our daughter was born in April. Once she got on board I threw it into overdrive!
We’ll have all the cash put aside by the end of the year, that should give us enough time to change our minds on which resort a few dozen more times

All very wise advice. Aside from deciding on the resort really take a look at the points charts for the times of the year you might travel and compare different resorts. This might help in the decision making process when you see how much the same room type costs at one resort to the next. Davids dvc rental is a great site where you can put in dates and get the points total as well as room occupancy. Planning a trip Sunday and leaving Thursday will get you lower points compared to the weekend (fri & sat night). The contract end date might also be a factor.

There is so much to learn about DVC that even once you buy you will be on here reading because there will always be something you read that you never knew about.

Welcome! Take your time. There is a huge amount of information here, and we spent a lot of time going through it before we purchased. And it was a good decision for us.
