Hi I looked in the newbie thread but couldn't find answers so I apologize if it's in there and I missed it. Here are my questions 1) I bought Disneyland tickets as an eTicket and it says I can just scan my phone. But then it says they will give me a paper ticket. Can anyone tell me what this will do? Do I have to wait in a ticket line? If I print out tickets, do I still have to get replacement ticket? I don't want to waste time doing that. I also would like best/closest place to park near Disney entrance. I don't want downtown Disney lot. Whew! Thanks in advance.

Did you buy the ticket directly from Disneyland (e.g., Disneyland.com)? If you did, you just need to take the eTicket with you to the turnstile. You can either use your phone or print the eTickets (either will work). The first time you use the ticket, the CM will scan the barcode and then issue you a credit card sized paper/Tyvek ticket (at a minimum you need the paper/Tyvek ticket to obtain FPs). Overall, it's a pretty painless process.

In terms of parking, the main lots are the Mickey & Friends Garage and the Toy Story lot. The Downtown Disney parking lot is for guests visiting Downtown Disney (it's not meant for theme park guests). In truth, I would just follow the parking direction signs when you get there rather than try to get to a specific lot. Neither the M&F garage or the Toy Story lot are that close, but I don't think one is markedly worse than the other.

Welcome to the boards! :welcome:

I don't blame you for questioning this, I think they mislead people with the term "paper ticket" as today, with people being able to print all kinds of movie and concert tickets at home, most people see a ticket on a letter sized piece of paper as a "paper ticket".

What they give you is a hard paper ticket which is the same size as a credit card which can be used in their Fast Pass machines. It is sturdy enough to handle the # of days it will be used but not made of plastic like the annual passports.

We used e-tickets purchased from my husband's workplace to enter the parks recently. You don't need to print out the tickets (save a tree, lol!). I took screenshots of the tickets/barcodes to ensure that I had easy access at the turnstiles for the CM to scan. I always find that easier to deal with than to try to load the email with the tickets.

"wasting time waiting in line for swapping over tickets.." as stated you can go straight to the gate to get your park ticket. they now take photos of people and attach it to your park ticket.. and they will get you to sign it in front of them... I believe if its a day pass you wont need the photo.
when parking you can either walk from the parking lot or get the shuttles .
