We are thinking of taking a trip to Disney World, but in the past we have always gone off-season. Now we want to take our granddaughter, so going off-season is not possible as her mom won't let us take her out of school. My question is this - as far as crowds and long lines, would it be better to go on her Spring Break 4/12-4/20 or go the first week in June? Thank you so much!!

If it was me I would try the 1st week in June. Some of the counties in FL still are in school for the first couple of days so chances are it won't be to crowded with fl res, until after the 3rd.

first i would like to say~ welcome to the DIS!!!
i would also suggest going the first week of june. alot of schools across the nation are still in session and kids really cant be taken out that close to the end of the school year. and according to these boards, spring break is a really busy time to go. i would assume that alot of people go then to try to get cooler weather. (versus going in the summer.) either way, have a great trip!!

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to the BEST Disney board. You will find a TONE of information here. I have planned my past 5 Disney trips with this board and its wonderful members.

Now, is August a posibility? We go the last part of August and have a wonderful time. It is VERY hot, but managable and the lines are not bad at all. My DD's (Disney Daughters) don't go back to school until after Labor Day, so this has always been a good time for us. Plus, it is considered "off season" so you can receive "off season" prices.

I have never been during Spring Break or June, so I can't help with that, sorry. Good luck!!!

My thought...Anytime at WDW is a good time!!

I would agree this would the best of the 2 times to go.

hi: another vote for first week of june. because of all the snow and not too many snow days built in, our local schools are going until 6/24 this year.

If you can handle the heat I would say June also. We always go over Easter but that is because our schools don't let out until end of June (we don't start until September).

Easter is very, very crowded (but fun) so if your looking for lighter crowds, try June.

Welcome to the Dis! Its so nice to have you. :)

The only thing wrong with the first week in June is the rain. When we were there it poured every day and always rained at night when we were getting out of the parks. It would rain in the mornig then clear up in the afternoon and start up again when it started to get dark. That trip was the only time we had to wear rain gear.
The most memorable part of that trip was one day when it rained till 1PM and then started clearing up. We decided to go to the Magic Kingdom. When we were half way there on the ferry, the sun came out brightly forming a pretty rainbow from one end of the kingdom to the other. All people on board started clapping and shouting
Disney magic

I've never even thought of going in June again.
