Hi everyone;
I got great advice from this site for our trip to POLY Nov.'04 :thumbsup2 and decided to participate in planning our last minute trip to POP arrive Aug.28.
There will be DH, DS 10, and DF 8.

I am trying to decide where to eat, planning around the parks we hope to be in that day. :confused3
I am hoping to get Mamma Melrose/fantasmic pkg. on 28th
I really want to do Boma as last trip everyone pooped out after AK, and we ate at RFC.
Probably late breakfast at CM's (kids loved it last time)
Otherwise, at a loss--? Cape May dinner, Liberty Tree ? dinner
?somewhere in Epcot for dinner ? Princess story book at Akershus

Also, what are my chances at getting any of these places this late?

Thanks everyone

POP ...soon!! :cheer2:

Sorry, don't know how to make this look fancy.

Welcome! My advice is to call every day right up to the day you want a ressie for DON'T give up!!People are always cancelling at the last minute! :thumbsup2

If you can't get the dinners you want, go for lunch and do CS for dinner. Nothing better than a nice air cond. rest. for a break on a hot afternoon.
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

First and foremost........Welcome! Do as the previous posters have said, call everyday up until you leave, people are cancelling everyday. Good luck and have a great trip,

Try for the less popular restaurants, and you should be able to get an ADR. There are a lot of fine places that are not on the top of others' lists. Work with the dining CM on the phone.

Try:

1900 Park at Grand Floridian for a character meal (easy monorail ride from Magic Kingdom)
Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom for a late lunch (huge sandwiches and sundaes)
Dinner in Morocco or late lunch at Coral Reef in Epcot

Welcome!! I found the "pics of food thread" to be somewhat helpful - there is a list on pg. 236 which tells you the pages of each rest. where you can find pics taken by DISers!! :thumbsup2 Hope you find is useful.

Just wanted to welcome you to the DIS Boards!

You've gotten some good advice on getting ADRs in this thread, so hopefully you'll have some success. Good luck to you. :)

I can definitely confirm what the other, more experienced posters have said. I am planning my first trip to WDW and started planning too late. I had trouble with a lot of my ADRs when I started making them 2 weeks ago for the last week of Sept. As of today, I have gotten all but 2 of the restaurants and times I wanted. I have called almost everyday to check for openings and it really does work if you are persistent.

Keep trying-if think of something you want.. keep calling... maybe Garden Grill at Epcot, or Liberty Tree at MK, or Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace at MK (they may not like that though... it's lots of fun though. Or a world showcase restaurant...

We LOVED  Coral Reef and LTT. You couldn't go wrong with either of those!

Thanks everyone for the welcome and advice. :)
I called today, and got Momma Melrose for the first night although there was nothing left for the FDP, I will do as suggested and call back hoping to get a cancellation.
Also booked CM's breakfast for the last spot(will be breaky, lunch combo)
Boma, a must do for me, even if I have to take a cab there and back.
GG for early lunch.
Thinking LTT, Cape May, or LC(sounds good but can make same food here-Canadian eh). for the other days.
Thanks again everyone.

Have you thought about Kona Cafe? We love it. Where are you from in Canada?

We love Cape May for breakfast & dinner. You will be close to Epcot & MGM from there. We usually plan our meals based on which parks we want to be at so we're not running around to make ressies. We've also enjoyed dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern or Crystal Palace in MK. We love Rose & Crown for dinner at Epcot.

Good luck & welcome back to the boards!

We ate Breakfast at Kona last trip Nov.04 as we stayed at Poly then, and it was nice, the kids loved the Mickey pancake thing. While there, we also ate at Ohana's where I got a metal meat fork dropped on my head, :furious: and then a free breakfast there the next day (Canadians tend not to sue).
Probably will avoid Poly this trip. Other then the fork mishap, would recommend either rest. though.
We're from Hamilton, Ontario and you?
