Riu Girl, there is an evelator and there is a luggage cart rack at the National area in the garage. So load up head down to level one, walk across tothe garage, take the elevator to level two and head left out the the elevator to the national area, pick the car, load up, send hubby back with the cart rack(near the elevator) then head to the check out booth,, have a great vacation!!!!!!

National is on level 2 of the garage on A side. On B side, it is on ground level. I think it's just the luck of the draw which side is better when you get there.

Northwest is closer to B side. After you get off the tram from the gates, if you go right you will be on B side, if you go left you will be heading to A side.

National doesn't make it any easier than being a member of emerald aisle. I was one of the lucky ones this year and moved to the Executive Aisle for 2005. I guess it's a sign that I went to disney world more than 40 days this year....wow. We used the Executlve Aisle in January and it was such a great peace of mind that we knew we were getting at least a full size car. We got a brand new SUV Rendevous--gotta love the new car smell. I just hope I can keep at the 40 day mark again this year so that we stay at this level.

BTW, when we picked up our car in January on MLK weekend, the EA lot was empty, so not sure where people were being directed. It was lot B.

My next trip is April 29th and we are trying Independence for the first time. I believe they come in closer to lot A, so will be my first time choosing my rental from Lot A.
:love2:

arrived Friday eve. 9:30pm. Lot of Impalas, and Malibus. A few PT cruisers. We couldn't see everything, and were in a hurry, to the full size reserve.

A thanks to everyone who convinced me to rent a car- and use National. We think we like driving a lot better, than busses.

Tried EA for the first time this trip. Didn't get in until after 5pm on A side as our flight was about 20 min. late getting in. Basically almost nothing on the EA as I had suspected, it being school vacation week for our area. One family had grabbed the only G6 on the lot. I saw a Stratus, and a Malibu. We chose a red Chevy Classic because it had only 2400 miles on it..my DH insisted on going up to the booth to check because he didn't believe me that you could just drive off with the car...silly man!
I got my great price $94 for the week with Priceless contract ID and Ent. coupon!! I did call National a few days before we left to make sure that was my only ressie on record. I wanted to make sure in my giddiness over price drops that I hadn't accidently forgotten to cancel my previous ressies.
Thanks to all you EA experts on the Transportation board for pointing me to the EA!!! It sure beats that over 60 minute wait at the Alamo counter last year!! :cool1:

Dad called from EA and said there was TONS of Impala's and Malibu's, 2 Pontiac Vibe's and a PT cruiser. He took a new Pontiac Vibe.

We've reserved a full size in December for 1 week, Emerald Reserve, Entertainment Coupon for 118.16 after taxes. I had reserved one earlier in the year for $178 or so....so the prices really dropped in a couple of months.

Last time we were in Orlando, we drove off with a Stratus. I can't remember what we had originally reserved (I didn't use EA that trip). Is the Stratus considered an intermediate or a full?

Last year in Los Angeles, we used EA and they had nothing in the EA except intermediates. We crammed all of our luggage into a Grand Prix (two huge suitcases had to go in the back seat...we were shopping big time so we had extra suitcases.)

What are examples of full size cars? Impala? Stratus? Any cool cars? :earboy2:

Anyone else having trouble with Magic Express??

We're going to Contemporary and Beach Club next week. We arrive on the 1st official day of the Magic Express service (May 5). We have NOT rec'd the luggage tags yet. I've been trying to get a straight answer, but all Disney can say is that they are very behind printing these tags and it's likely I will not get my tags in time, since we leave next Wednesday. The say my only option is to arrive in MCO, pick up my bags myself, find the Disney Magic Express booth, gets some tags, go back to baggage claim, carry my luggage to booth, sign in, then carry the luggage to the bus, and then ride to the hotel. They say this process should take about 2 hours. I'm so upset, since this is such a waste of time and defeats the whole point of this service. We have two little kids and the whole POINT of using Express instead of a limo service was that is was "free" and would save me the trouble of getting my own bags. Now it's simply an inconvenience and MORE WORK. It's disappointing that Disney is not handling this professionally and having answer ready when we call. Why can't someone simply say for sure whether we'll have tags or not? Why can't someone take ownership, do some research or reprint tags and 2nd day mail or FAX them to me? I know they say it's a "free" service, but in the end, nothing is free and we all know that services like this are "built in" to the price we're paying for the hotel, etc.

I guess the biggest annoyance is that we shuffled our dates so that we could arrive on a day when the service was supposed to be started, and now I'm going to have to get a limo to pick us up and pay more than I expected...the last person I spoke to couldn't understand what my concerns were.. he simply said, "Well just wait and see if your tags show up, if you don't get tags by next week, just get your own bags and carry them yourself" ... There are NO BIGGER Disney nuts than my family, and we obviously won't let this ruin the vaca, but I wish Disney would treat us like special guests, especially when I spending $4,500 or so for the privilege.

A Grand Prix is a full size. A Grand Am would be intermediate. The Grand Prix we had a couple years ago had a large trunk. I'm not sure about a Stratus, I think it's intermediate.

step4now - I think you are on the wrong thread. This thread is about rental cars. You might get an answer if you start a new thread.

We arrived April 16th at about 3:00. There were only a few cars on Side A, all Intermediates. We were hoping for a minivan, or at least an SUV, because were renting a scooter and had to transport it, along with all the luggage from one hotel to another. When I asked, they said they never put minivans on the EA, although I remember several people posting that they have gotten them. But...not much we could do. There were 3 of us so we found that the Malibus have a "split" rear seat that folds down. So.....we put the little guy in his booster seat in the small side and folded the seat down and put the luggage on the larger side. The car was "jammed to the ceiling" for the short trip with the scooter in it but...it worked anyway!! :wizard:

Very, very seldom have I ever seen a van on the EA, so I would not ever anticipate one being there. If you definitely need one, you should probably reserve one from the start. The EA is always a gamble when you have specific needs. I have always been happy with what I have found ont he EA, but there are usually just two of us, sometimes 3 and we can make do with whatever is there at the time.

I am glad that you were able to work things out with a Malibu. I bet you were filled to the brim as you said, but you make lemondae out of lemons.

Arrived B side at 11:00am on April 22. Lots of cars on EA. Mostly intermediates, maybe a couple of full size. About a half dozen Pontiac Vibes and between one and two dozen Malibus or similar sedans.

We took a Vibe since we never had one before and wanted to try it out. It had only 7 miles on it!! This is the second time in a row we have gotten a brand new car. For the short hopping we did it was fine. We had 4 carry on sized suitcases. Maybe we could have gotten one more in the back but that would be it. It would also be a tight fit in the back seat for more than 2 people. Seemed more like a compact than an intermediate size wise.

arroved at 9:40 PM on 4/28. We chose a bright red Pontiac Vibe and so far so good. There were also G6s, A malibu, an aztec, a rendevous and a toyota i believe. This was A side.

Arrived side B at 9:30am on Tues. 4-26. All intermediate sedans (various models) and 1 Toyota Rav 4. We took the Rav 4. It only had 932 miles on it.

This was our first time using EA. Pick up and Return were GREAT! Looking forward to using them again in October. :cool1:

Arrived 04/13 to 04/27. Many vibes and malibus. We took a PT cruiser with 900 miles.

I arrived around 3:30 this afternoon on A side. I didn't get a good look at the EA since I booked full size but I saw Classics and Grand Am's. There were about 5 cars on the full size, I got a red Impala with 1500 miles. I saw a couple other Impalas and a Century on the full size.

looks like the cars are back. :sunny:

Friday evening (B side) both Em. Isle and Ex. Isle were filled with cars, no suvs in either but plenty to pick from.

For the third time they did not take the coupon ($20. off) till I reminded her. She did say that I could lose out on that discount, if she did not have the coupon. I wanted to say, well how about keeping it when I hand it to you.
So just a tip, make sure they take the coupon.
