new sw dates are up gett'm while they are hot!!

I wasn't happy with SW prices OR the times. So I ended up just booking a Delta flight that would get us there earlier and was the EXACT same price, to the cent. Unfortunately, I have had lousy experiences with Delta every single time I have flown with them. Here's hoping a little pixie dust prevents that this time.

Thanks, that worked. Our fares are as they always are..$79 each way.

I was worried that I would be away from my computer today (at a conference all day).I guess I shouldn't have been too concerned. I booked my rapid reward rt fare for myself $5. It is my first one!!!!! But even with $140 in credit I am going to wait to book my husband. $158 each way is just too much!

I am paying $89 each way out of Houston. I always end up paying $89 or $99 so I am happy.

I already have our tickets for our October trip booked with Airtran. Decided to check Southwest, and they are $30 more than Airtran. Glad I didn't wait for their fares to come out because they are not any better! Also, their flight times are not as good as Airtran.

Another Rhode Islander here, and a pissed off SW loyal customer also. We are flying to Orlando 9/15-9/22 and were waiting for the schedule to expand today and we end up with $158 one way?!?!?! Well I just checked JetBlue in Boston and today the flights for our dates dropped from $99 one way to $79 so needless to say, we booked JetBlue for $158 RT instead of SW for $158 one way!!!

Thanks JETBLUE!!!

I am not in RI but friends of mine will be visiting for the first time since they moved to Fl. Dates would be 9/6-9/10 or so, we have been waiting for the dates to open. Not happy at all with the prices, MCO to MHT $158. each way. Way to much money, I think she will try JetBlue too!

I am waiting as well. I can buy 4 tickets for $875 but I just don't have the funds right now. Waiting for the tax refund to come back. <sigh>

GRRRR I am very upset with the SW prices. As the theme is another Rhode Islander here and 158 more than I was hoping for especially since this is right after the wedding and we already have to pay $800 for DFI to come back from England. I sure hope a Ding comes since lately they have been having $50 or $25 ones. Lets keep our fingers crossed and i relaly don't fee like driving to Boston.

Really upset with SW right now. We are loyal fliers of theirs out of Baltimore, but for the day we are flying down and the previous date both all non-stop flights are unavailable except at the $205 rate. Ridiculous if you ask me, that's more than I was going to pay for each RT ticket per person.

I'v never flown SW before so don't understand the Dings. Do you have to be on your computer to know when there is a ding (which, I assume means your flight price has been lowered)? I need to go from Providence or Hartford but will go to Boston to save about $600. Are there any other lower fare airlines that are less $$$?

UGH! We are planning on leaving Sat 11/3. Missed it by 1 day!!:headache:
Maybe I wait for a good ding and I'll book the Friday night flight and just change our check in date. The stress is too much ;)

I already booked our return flight with Airtran @ $79. each. Waiting for a good deal on our departure which is $99. with Airtran right now.

I'm flying out of Providence to Orlando in October (1st flight out and Last flight back) and I got $99 each way. I'm pretty happy with that I thought it would of been higher since the new dates just came out. I will wait for a ding to see if it gets cheaper. Most of the time it goes down to $49-$79.

Needless to say i was not thrilled with sw this afternoon. $131.00 plus taxes is crazy. I am really annoyed because i held off booking with jetblue awhile ago at $79 waiting brought them up to $99 . I really thought sw would have at least the same prices it is so much easier flying out of islip. oh well what can you do thanks a lot sw we are flying jetblue at a higher cost now:mad:

Hey previous poster, we're practically neighbors-we live in Fairhaven. I'm holding out for a lower rate. Paid $355 for the trip we are taking in 6 days!! Don't really want to be $556-that what our price will be right now. Don't want all the flights to disappear. I guess I could book now & then when the flights go down..what happens to the money you paid. Do they credit your card or do you get credit towards a flight for another time. I know that's how it used to be-had to use it within a year. Still true?

SW rates were not good for us either. I will patiently wait for a DING or use another airline!:sad2:

Boy, all these PVD flyers -- I'm in Somerset and was also very disappointed this morning at 11:05 when they released them. We are leaving either on 8/24 or 8/25 and returning on 9/3. Last year we booked on the first day they opened and then there was a fare sale 1-1/2 weeks later. I don't want to have to go to Boston but there is always the commuter rail to the silver line...

about the credit difference I'm not sure exactly how it works but i think you get a credit towards another flight I'm not sure if its 6mos or a year. I'm ok with that though it just means another vacation.

I checked SW earlier and was shocked to see the fares posted until Nov 2nd tonight. I was expecting the Oct/Nov fares to come out in late June. They are early this year.
We missed out return day too on Nov 3rd, that has never happen before. I can't get over the SW fares either, too high for me to book now....we are going to keep watching and waiting. I have $450 credit but do not want to waste it either.

Good luck...

Next trip to WDW can't come soon enough!!!

These fares are far from "hot". I was looking for PVD to Tampa in Sept. and refuse to pay $139 each way. I'll be holding out for a DING, that's for sure!!!:rolleyes1
