Hi, Its been a while since I've been on here as never thought I'd be able to afford to go back to DLP - However my wonderful parents or should I say my father  who suffered a very bad motorbike accident 3 years ago has been awarded his compensation finally and last night announced that he was taking me, my hubby and our daughter who is now 6 years old and my mum and him over to DLP for a 4 night/5 day stay in Hotel New York at the beginning of May with some of his compo money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I cannot believe what wonderful parents I have (BTW Im 35 years old and hubby is 40) - an all expenses trip !!!!!!!!!! We have been lucky enough to have visited twice before, once in 2006 (2 nights/3 days) for my daughter's 4th birthday and we stayed at the Newport Bay and then in 2007 (3 nights/4 days) when we stayed at Davey crockett.

Im so excited to go back after having a bad year in 2008 with a burglary when we were in Spain to come back to an empty house !! and then m/c at 4 months pregnant in December with my little boy:sad1: I hope that this trip will be a wonderful experience for us in 2009.

We are also half board plus which we have never experienced before......am looking forward to popping on here regularly for all your wonderful hints and tips as they were so useful in 2007 to get us organised.

Any hints this year about the hotel New York will be gratefully received.

Ruth

You & your family have certainly had a rough time over the past few years. Bet your dad is delighted to be able to treat you!! Have fun  x

Aren't Dad's great??! My Dad got the all clear from bowel cancer and treated us to NYE at Disney in 2008, and now he's due for retirement he's booked us into the Cheyenne for 4n/5d in July!! I'll have to have a word with him though and tell him your dad's booked the HNY and I want that one too LOL!!

Oh I'm 36 - and still a Daddy's girl! I've got two kids with an absent father so he means the world to them too. So it seems not all men are *_________* fill in the gap ha ha ha ha!!

hope this year is better for you all xx
:goofy:
i got back from Hotel New York on thursday evening and it was fantastic!!! the room was lovely and breakfast was really good, my dd managed to eat enough at breakfast to last her until tea time! we by-passed the queue for Park side Diner and joined the shorter queue a bit further along for Manhatten Restuarant, the food was the same but the room was a bit nicer. we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a lake view room and were offered a character breakfast at Cafe Mickey our first morning there. all the staff were very friendly and helpful. the swimming pool was a bit cold and there was no shallow end but the jacuzzi was nice and warm. i think we saw a different character every time we went in to the hotel and dd had photos taken with Pluto, Goofy, Micky and Minnie so she was kept very happy. we ate at Park Side diner one evening, it was a buffet and really nice food, all hot and plenty of it.

i hope you have a wonderful trip and i'm sure you'll love HNY xx
