Seeing as the wife has already posted to say we're back (in my name as well, but hey gets MY post count up
) thought I'd give everyone the gen on the roadworks discussed at length in other threads and the new rides.
I4 - if you're heading west on I4 past 192 then forget it, horrendous tailbacks and congestion every night, right past HW27. If your based on the 27 anywhere I would suggest taking 192 west to 27 first rather than I4.
192West - No problems at all for Disney or I4, roadworks begin just after the I4 Sliproad.
192East - You can't get on I4 if you've come from 192east, the sliproads and entire junction is being rebuilt. You also have problems coming off with major diversions in place, you have to come off at 65 (rather than 64a or b) and follow the diversion signs. Further east you have roadworks for a few miles past medieval times and walmart, these can be busy but dont generally cause may problems, careful if you go to Walmart as you actually have to cross the construction zone to get in.
Other than that no real traffic problems to report.
NEW STUFF.
Most of which wasn't open yet but you could see the rides.
Busch Gardens - Sheikra - most of the ride is built (about 3/4) they still had some steel work to put in place and a couple of support columns. Log Flume is closed because of the construction. The ride itself looks scarier in the flesh than it did on the video. 200ft vertical first drop, couldn't see any real loops, seems to be classic rollercoaster sort of track, banked turns etc. Due to open in May and I would say prob on schedule.
Animal Kingdom - Everest - not due to open until next year but a rather impressive mountain can now be seen climbing above the disney parks. (excellent view from mount gushmore at BB). Seems most of the structure is inplace.
Sea World - Seem to have something opening soon as the Dolphin stadium is closed off completely for construction.
Epcot - Soarin - again due to open in may, cant really say how this is going because its an inside ride so you cant tell.
Cant think of anything else but any questions let me know.
