Just thought it would be great to put a sticky relating to Parades and Fireworks and the best spots to watch them from at each park. I've been trying to search the boards but it comes up with "too common words" or something to that effect. To the powers that be, would this be possible? Good or bad idea? TIA :teeth:

i don't know
if this is a sticky then it should be at the top
bump
:)

I do agree this would be a great sticky!

This is something that MANY MANY MANY wonder about, but like you said, there are so many posts about fireworks it's hard to find it in a search.

From my experience of seeing hundreds of performances at Disney for fireworks.

Magic Kingdom:

*Directly in the center to the rear of the "hub". Any closer removes some views of lower level shots, but the shells are "seemingly" directly behind the castle in this view.

*The Bridge between the Hub and Tomorrowland. However, you get a GREAT view but the shells seem to come up to the "right" side of the castle.

*The Train Station or just below the station on the ground. This is a great spot, but know that the lights on Main St. are not turned off during the show, which could cause a problem in view.

*Ferry Landing. You may not know this but the Ferry landing has music close enough to where you can hear the audio music of the show. The view from here is spectacular and rivals the best view in the park.

Epcot:

*Just as you come into World Showcase, to the left and to the right you'll see stores. Prime spots are up against the railing just to the "far" sides of each store as you enter World Showcase. This is close enough to where you can actually feel the heat. Do not wait on the area just in front of the world showcase entrance as it is often closed off during the show and you may be bumped back further.

*Judge the wind before the show, if you are in the smoke like you will miss the entire show from coughing.

*Do not get behind one of the "islands" as it will block your view.

*The area sticking out towards the water in Italy is a great spot.

*Do not go in any area where trees are directly above you, especially if video taping, as during high shots it will get in your way.

Great thread!! Thanks Civileng68 for the great tips for viewing the fireworks. I'm gonna write them down for our next trip.

This is a wonderul suggestion. The only thing is we like to keep the sticky threads to be mostly informative. If you ask 100 people where the best spots are-- you could get 100 different answers. I'll pass along the suggestion and see what the verdict is.

Great tips - thanks for sharing them with us!! One question - where is the ferry landing at the MK?

mk:

the beach at the poly.... you get to see them from a distance. i noticed things about the fireworks that i would never have noticed being so close to it.

epcot:

we like to sit on the benches in the pavillion area in front of itlay or france

Yes, but it would be nice to have those 100 different answers all in one thread that is easy to find. I think the OP's concern is that it's hard to find good info by searching for "best fireworks/parade views", so it essentially ends up being asked on these boards about 2-3 times per day. The people with the best suggestions can't possibly answer these questions every time they're posted.

Just after you get off of the tram from the parking lot, you will go through the ticket counters, and instead of going straight to go up the monorail ramp, go to the left down to the Ferry. The Ferry Landing is the Ferry Station. Same thing. You can get a truly spectacular view from there. If you've never seen it from there, I would highly recommend it. Just something about the view, and you hear the shells very well as there is not much, except for the lake between you and the park.

It's up to the mods, and whatever is fine, but I agree. If I was a newby coming here looking for fireworks info, man this would be the thread. Even if you get 1000000 different spots, at least it enlightens people to various ideas of spots. I myself probably could even learn a few spots from this thread, and I've seen them more times than I can count.

Adding just one more sticky to the top of the page wouldn't be so bad, but I really hate going to some of the forums where the stickies fill about 1/3 of the page, so I have to check out many pages to get just the latest news. JMHO.

You're out of your mind if you think I'm telling you the best spots! When I get to my spot, I become this:

ITA! This is exactly what I was trying to say but you said it for me! Loving these boards more and more ! :disrocks:

At this point it's thought this info is too much a matter of personal preference to stick it to the top. We'll see what happens in the future.
