Has anyone been to see this yet? From what I read online, there is not a new ride or anything....just stuff to see and the Jedi training...right? What are the ages for the Jedi training? I read one article that said storm troopers were there walking around for photos. Sorry I sound so clueless...just trying to get a feel for what has been actually added at HWS that is Star Wars related

The entire expansion is not complete yet. For now there is Star Wars Launch Bay. It has a meet and greet area that include Darth Vadar and Chewbacca, and then sometimes they are Jawwas and Storm Troopers. Not sure if the last two are roaming or just in specific locations. There are props and costumes from the movies and a short film that summarizes the first 6 with a preview of VII. There is also the new Jedi Training Academy that is for ages up to 12 I believe.

Is the Darth Vader/Chewbacca meet and greet only for Visa Cardholders? Or is there a regular line too?

Regular lines for Darth and Chewie. Structurally looks like they can add FP+ when ready.

The Visa Meet & Greet is for Darth only is in a different location within the Launch Bay.

Only saw the Jawas inside Launch Bay.

Stormtroopers were walking outside, imagine they would be the best fit for outside. They really weren't stopping for pictures....

Launch Bay has lots of artifacts, a Disney Infinity play room, a movie about Star Wars and shopping.

Star Tours is still the same with extra scenes.

Jedi Training is basically the same with new character added.

One theater is a montage of SW films.

Backlot Express has some SW themed food.

Symphony Fireworks, excellent.

The additions are fun but nothing like rides or attractions. That is a few years out - construction has not even begun. They are not all together so check the map for locations.

Ages 4-12 for Jedi training. Storm troopers don't stop for photos, but you can meet Chewie and Darth Vader for photos. Fireworks at night are Star Wars themed as well.

My kids are big Star Wars fans so they really enjoyed the Launch Bay, we did pictures with both Chewy and Vader and caught up with the Jawa inside. The Jawas will trade with you so my kids thought that was great. We did Jedi Academy - it was my son's favorite thing at WDW, and the grandparents enjoyed seeing them in the show. Both movies were fun for fans. Fireworks hadn't started when we were there (early Dec) but I hear they are wonderful.

What kind of stuff do the Jawa trade?

SHINY. We traded gold buttons (can get cheap ones at craft store) and big gold jingle bells. I even put them in a little brown drawstring bag. Huge hit. They loved them. At one point there were a few Jawas with him interacting. The better the stuff you give them the better you get back. One lady handed them a map and they handed her a crumbled napkin. :D

Blue arrow shows all the shiny stuff in their hand.

Thanks - we are going in a couple of weeks and I think my 5yo will love this. I will put some shiny stuff in my pocket for him to trade. With all the SW stuff, I feel like I need to catch up on info before our trip. :)

They are def picky. I thought they would trade anything...but when I ran into them all I could come up with to trade were Star Wars shaped little graham crackers. It wouldn't trade!

He decided he took a liking to my sons shoe and traded for that and a CM made him come back and give the shoe back. He was not happy. Great interaction! We loved all the new Star Wars stuff. Cant wait for the rest to be built.

My kids will love that too, going to bring coins from here in Honduras to trade and see what other creative things my kids come up with themselves to bring.

I don't think they'll do food.

At SWW I heard they liked home made SW stuff (we made shrinky dinks). If you do pins or buttons, make sure that there's nothing sharp sticking out. They won't trade backless pins.

Agree. I think the issue was = food.

What they take from you they will trade with another person. They are going to stick with times that are safe so no food, I can see the backless pins also being a problem. Their visibility is not great and they are digging in their pouch. It has to be something they can not only give away but won't do harm to them or a guest.

I have to think of something fund to bring! Looks like I am due for a trip to Hobby Lobby...or Goodwill!

Great to know about the Jawas. That should be fun.

Thank you for sharing this info. DH and DS6 are Star Wars fanatics and will be thrilled with all this!
