I have been trying all week to book SWA for Thanksgiving week. Prices finally came down today. Book soon! :cool1:

Definitely good to get in early if your comfortable and then just monitor going forward for any reductions and get some credit for the next trip

We are heading to the World on November 25. This will be the first time we have gone durring this time of year. There seems to be less flights available and more expensive. Any idea of when the best time to buy air line tickets is?

Our December, 12/20-1/2 flights went way down this morning out of SDF. Finally got everyboday booked and non stop to boot. Booked for $135 each way, SWA has been at least $189 each way for a year and Airtran pulling out of LEX this is an awsome deal.

Our August fares went down today too. Not much, but I still got an extra 960 points added back to my card! Down from 114 one way to 110 one way between PIT and MCO.

Ive been pricing flights and times for out aug cruise/wdw trip

it looks like we'll be on 2 different airlines due to $ and times

I noticed today that the SW coming home dropped $6 per person--there'll be 2 of us

since today is Sat and fares are usually cheaper on Tues and Wed

is it worth jumping on the small savings or wait just a few days and see what happens

could this a sign that maybe next week fares will be even alittle lower

heres hoping:banana:

Does anyone have instructions for cancelling and rebooking. I am always afraid I will cancel and then not be able to get the same flight! Thanks

Katallo, I've only done it once, and I called SWA directly to do it. The rep couldn't give me the same price quoted on the airline (which I totally don't understand lol), so she just walked me through the process. It was quick, painless, and I got the same flight. You could ask them to check seat availability before you cancel/rebook. Any time I've called SWA to ask a question (and I've called A LOT), they've been very helpful.

Lucky! Ive been watching all week and mine actually went up! Hou to mco. I bought on Monday since we had the 50,000 free miles from the credit card offer, but I still keep checking to see about the ones we paid for. One of the flights that we were looking at actually sold out of the "wanna get away" fare.

Just bit the bullet on our RTs out of PHL. 11/25-12/3, about $320pp. It's high, but having the 25th in our travel plans runs the risk of it going higher.

Thanks for the advice. That's what I will do.

We booked our flights (ALB to MCO) for our 7/5 to 7/14 trip on Memorial Day weekend. They were $172 each way :scared1:. I just happened to check SW and the flight on 7/5 is down to $121. That's $200 towards our trip in May! :cool1:

I hate flying but if I could get a great deal for Dec...I'll bite. Right now, it's $242 RT ALB - MCO. It was only $150 RT three years ago (I know, inflation/gas prices) but for a family of 5, when it is less than $600 to drive RT, I still can't see spending $1200+ to fly...either hoping for an awesome "ding" deal or a last minute fare...

We flew out of PHL last year on Thanksgiving day. We booked 4 tickets in May of 2011, and prices went down about $200 all told in the last week of July/first week in august. Keep checking...good luck.
