New Sorcerer Pass - Does it require a blue member card?

Terrible the most expensive pass no longer has any DVC discount, we always g Christmas.
Well, I don't think the DVC discount was ever advertised for the platinum pass. You had to find it on the DVC page. So there may be a little (very little?) hope that there will be a discount. Perhaps they just didn't announce it with all of the general information.

Well if I am getting all of this right our trip scheduled for Dec 14-19 will fall within the black out period, at least the last day any way so looks like bye bye welcome home reservation for the newbs or we forgo the AP that we were planning to buy for a return trip Nov 2022. Sweet deal Disney. That doesn't seem very magical at all.

Most of your Dec dates would be blocked out under the now discontinued Gold Pass also.

Did not know that, thought is was only easter week oh well looks like one trip on banked points because we have to then put the kibosh to the planned 2022 trip and bank the points hoping for better days in 2023. Disney taketh and so do I.

No joke!

I still can't believe they didn't throw in some small Blue Card discount on the Incredipass. It's beyond greed, just stupidity. Don't you want to sell Blue Cards?

Except those that can use the Socerer pass will still benefit and the blue card for that pass could be worth it.

It will be for us, especially with Easter time not being blacked out. However, for those who need a no black out date pass, it’s a big hit and certainly will be something that will not help with DVC sales For those who travel during the black out periods.

Well we had been planning on buying but between the price increase and the Thanksgiving blackout dates we are out. I am glad I canceled part of my DVC reservation before my banking deadline. We have a cash reservation back up but who knows if we will bother even going now.

I wouldn't be shocked in the regular PH have price increases before Oct 1st. So maybe this is still a deal????

It is now confirmed on the DVC website….you must have a blue card to buy the Sorcerer pass.
I don't see it on the DVC site. Does it mention if there is a DVC discount for the Incredi-Pass?

There is a new notice. It does not but in the fine print, it only mentions the Sorcerer pass needing to be eligible, it leads me to believe no.

It shows the $899/$1299 prices. I think it’s a big disappointment that they cut FL and DVC from getting some level of discount on this pass.

I wonder as far as new DVC sales are concerned they were betting on no Easter blackouts being generally more enticing than Thanksgiving. Maybe that’s something they heard a lot of feedback on from prospective buyers.

Our 9 day hopper was $665 in Jan 2021
Photopass 3ppl $180 ($60/ea)
Bought 6 day hopper $535 for Sept 2021 trip
Another $180 photopass 2ppl ($90/ea)
No discounts on over $2k dining/merch

$1350 each for DH & I over 2 stays in 9 months, and no discounts to help offset the cost. Our APs expired in 2019 so we were excluded from even purchasing a pass until now. I think WDW is trying to make it expensive no matter what strategy people use to pay for parks. Offsite guests will be getting their shock too after Oct 1st. They’ll have a much harder time than onsite trying to avoid genie upgrades. At least onsite can use Early Entry and pmEMH to cover most of the individual paid LL rides without crazy lines.

Curious why you needed to purchase more than one Photopass? It should work for everyone in your group. Just the holder has to be the one to download.

if they opened it up to all DVC, they would have a hard time selling direct contracts. Assuming the top pass does not have a discount, you would be saving $400 plus tax by getting Sorcerer.

Just 1 photopass each trip, breakdown is showing cost per the # of ppl/trip (3 ppl & 2 ppl respectively). But we still need to buy it twice since the trips are 8 months apart. We all get smacked in our own way. It’s hard to visit without spending a lot. We really enjoy photopass so it’s still worth it to us but would’ve rather gotten APs this year and that would’ve been included

I missed that part. But it’s not valid for a year? Or only with an AP?
