New Sorcerer Pass - Does it require a blue member card?

Finally, I think the last shoe to drop is going to be day ticket increases. Lets see what happens there because that increase might make these prices look good!
A problem is that we are still waiting to see how much they are going to raise multi-day passes.
I doubt that they'll announce any increases to regular, date-based tickets. They could just quietly raise the price of a day here and a day (or twenty) there, and no one would know unless they'd been carefully following the prices for those particular dates.

Losing PhotoPass? Annoying, but whatever. In the age of amazing smartphone cameras, Disney for some reason wants you to pay a ridiculous price for using their (non professional) PhotoPass photographers. I have friends who just got back from World a few months ago that paid for PhotoPass. However, they didn't receive ANY ride photos because people (not in their party) were pulling down their masks. Unless this is a lifetime trip for you or a specific family member, don't waste your money.

However, the lack of discount on the IncrediPass is upsetting. Sounds like blue card members need to let DVC know we want a discount on the IncrediPass and go from there. There's a lot of members that travel Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Was an AP ever the way to go for this length of visit though unless you doubled up your visit? Example if you stagger your trips you might still come out ahead by getting 2x 6 day tickets. Plus you only need to buy Photopass once and it covers both trips.
The short of it is if you bought AP a 6 day park hopper ticket was break even with photo pass for 3 people. The savings above that were minimal because of how the day tickets priced adding days. So a 6 day was like $700 or so per person but a 7 day was like $718 per person. Then $169 for photopass.

As stated previously we will probably end up getting an AP for our next two trips. After that the idea of universal annual pass sounds pretty awesome. Stay DVC and have some resort mornings, and the premier pass includes express pass after 4pm, with no blackout dates. For less than half the price of the incredipass or 300 less than the sorcerer pass.

Using my upcoming year as an example, JUST Genie plus for 17 days gets us almost halway to a universal premier pass (255 vs 625). It's 500 savings per person when universal premier is compared to sorcerer + genie+ (1154 vs 625).

Time to start reading harry potter to my kid.

I don’t think day tickets will be immune to price increases. Over the past few months they have rolled out many price increases/perk removals:

- No complimentary ME
- No complimentary Magic Bands
- Annual Passes went up by 30-40% and now block out dates not available
- Photo pass is now additional for all APs
- No complimentary FPs, now it’s Genie+ with additional fees
- Reserved dining is now the same price for lunch and dinner (it used to be cheaper to have a dining reservation before 4 pm for lunch prices)
- All food prices went up throughout the parks

The next pricing areas of the parks to get affected will be:
- Parking
- Day tickets
- Hotels
- Souvenirs

My bet would be on day tickets being the next target for Disney. I'm scared to think about what new and exciting changes will be in store for the Dining Plans when they come back.

Photo pass is an extra $99 and Thanksgiving'a blocked out (instead of Easter). You only have to buy photo pass for one linked family member though.

Waiting for.the next $99 jump in pricing....and "but we added photo pass for free".

I agree. My point is they won’t ANNOUNCE any price increases to those date-based tickets. They’ll just quietly increase them.

Platinum Pass (DVC price): $899
Incredi-pass: $1299

Increase of 145% -- and that's without the $99 PhotoPass add-on.
That math is off. It's not a 145% increase. The new Incredi-pass is 145% what the cost of a DVC Platinum Pass was. The increase is actually +$400. $400 is 44.5% of $899. The increase is ~45%, which is still jaw-dropping.

It still saves us money over multi day tickets even with AAA discount. Does anyone know if you upgrade to an AP what happens to your park reservations? Can I do that before I arrive or only after in person at a park?

I think they want to push people away from Thanksgiving and Christmas. No FL Resident discount either.

The answer you will get from DVC is the same as members asking when new AP’s will go on sale - they have no control over it.

I dunno we’ve always had to pay again for Memory Maker photopass, even when our trips were only a few months apart. Only when we had APs in 2019 did that include for a year. Unless I’m missing something lol. One year we actually had to pay 3 times.

If it’s separate, you are correct. I thought you meant adding to AP.

Agreed.

Just like they quietly raised the ticket prices to the Halloween and Christmas themed extra magic events. I believe everyone had sticker shock over Boo Bash and the new Christmas event. I saw $249 pp on some dates, yuck.

You should still be fine, especially if you are staying with your DVC. I have both a multiday and AP attached to my name and it didn’t ask me to choose which ticket to use.

Last year, we booked my DDs boyfriend with one ticket and then bought a different one and there was no issue when I took my ticket back.

Be careful if you have multiple tickets. I have a friend whose son had an old no expiration pass plus a new one. She assumed it would take a day from the new one, it took it from the no expiration she was saving. It was a hassle to get it back. You need to get the tickets prioritized before entering.

Yup. I always check. They are currently set that way but I stop at GR to be sure!

Terrible the most expensive pass no longer has any DVC discount, we always g Christmas.
Same here. It fits with our family schedules in this time of life, right now, to go last half of Dec. The math worked out that the AP was just a little more than the daily tickets, so we would get the annual pass and go to the park more days than necessary and even add another smaller trip for a few of us in the family. We really enjoyed this approach - but may be hard to justify that approach from a cost/benefit. After we get through our Platinum pass this year, we will just need to revisit.

DVC pays for those discounts so they absolutely have control over it.
