New snacks on Dining Plan

One place we always make sure to stop at is the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor for their unbelieveable Waffle Sundaes. When I saw this link, I got so excited, until I went to Debs site to price the sundae. This is what it says:
The "Plaza" Ice Cream Sundae - Hot Fudge, whipped cream and a cherry served in waffle bowl $4.19

It is more than 4.00, so I guess it won't be a snack on the plan. :sad2:

Oh well

It sounds like you're talking about the Plaza Restaurant? If so, it is a table service restaurant and I don't think you can use a snack credit at any of those.

This is not at the Plaza restaurant. This is at the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, which is on the corner of main street, right out side of Plaza. It is a separate place with a counter inside.

I will be traveling in Sept on the free dining plan. This is all new to me so I am interested to see what other posters have to say.

wow

they just included breakfast for our whole family...

for free!!!

No more packing a whole suitcase for bkfst items in the name of saving money!!

We can use the credits for higher $$ baked goods, etc for bkfst and pay oop for the cheaper snacks if need be, I would much rather do it that way anyway.

Great news...

someone get me a dole whip!!! mmmmm yummy

I never so much as heard about a Dole Whip before this board, but now I'm dreaming of them. Thanks for making the wait that much harder! ;)

Don't get that excited....I think they have reached a ridiculous level of fame here on the boards....if I had one with out reading the build up, I would said it was good...but I wouldn't have written love letters about them on the boards....I went with HUGE expectations after reading about them, and I was dissappointed (they were still good mind you, I will probably even get one again...but not anywhere near what you read about here) They are no different than an Orange Julious at you local DQ except pinapple flavor instead of orange....the other thing is they must have 50000000000g of trans fat. I think the reason they get such build up here is because people associate them with childhood memories of Disney....I dunno, I just didn't get it. Gimmee my Baltimore shaved ice snowball with egg custard flavor and marshmallow cream on top anyday over a Dolewhip. (That is what I hook my childhood memories to)

So is this right beside the Bakery? I've always wondered where people were getting all that ice cream :rotfl2:

Seriously, it always amazes me all the little details about WDW that I miss even though we go fairly often.

Today the candy shop on Main Street added most of the treats in their glass case. Smores, etc.. The huge rice crispies squares and chocolate covered strawberries are not included and the wonderful CMs who helped me thought fudge wasn't included either. It sounds as if the changes in that shop just happened today as they had a meeting this am. Boy, they were helpful and friendly CMs.

I noticed even more things at the BC Marketplace today. Individual cereal bowls and some candy bars had the logo posted.

At the Main Street Bakery, almost everything in the bakery case had the logo in the early hours including the French toast loaf that I've seen DISsers rave about.

There are just so many choices now. It really is delightful to come upon these surprises!

Thank you for all the information. I'm still floored by the fact that the snack credit has changed. It will be great to use the snack credit for breakfast instead of using up a CS.

Does it include snacks at Epcot such as the Kaki Gori? :confused3

Last fall, the Kaki Gori stand didn't even accept room keys, so unless that's changed it won't be part of the DDP.

So what exactly is the deal? Is everything $4 and under included now or just select items?

Now that it appears that DW has expanded its snack options dare we hope that we will be able to apply the $4 toward any snack, regardless of price? :cool1:

I can see the stampede to B&C for $4 off the Kitchen Sink!! :lmao:

I was in enough trouble before but now I am destined to come home fatter than I went, for the very first time!! :confused3

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD - FRENCH TOAST LOAF, TOO!??!?!!?

Guess we're starting our day at MK every day this trip! :thumbsup2

Okay, not likely to be every day, but at least one. I agree - this is breakfast for our entire family, every day. That's a HUUUUUUGE blessing for us. What a great compromise! :)

Now, where else can you get pastries or something breakfast-y with a snack credit? I hate wasting a table service credit on something so small (when I can go to LC or Chefs de France) and there just aren't that many breakfast places around that are considered TS.

As for the trashing of the Dole Whip - hmm - I'm gonna have to be the first in a long line to say - good! Saves more for the rest of us! ;) Just kidding. I disagree that it's loaded in fat - it's more of a pineapple sorbet or frozen yogurt consistency (and even a McDonald's cone of soft serve only has 4 weight watchers points - if ANYONE was going to sneak fat into food, it would be McD). I think the beauty of it is that it's so refreshing - it's got that great, fresh pineapple taste and it's cold and thirst-quenching. You just don't get pineapple "ice cream" anywhere - and in the middle of August when you're sweltering in the heat, it's a welcome part of my day at MK. I love the floats now, since last time we got the cones and they dripped ALL OVER the ground during Wishes. :( We could hardly eat them (in the dark, mind you) because they were just liquid. The floats (pineapple juice and dole whip) are delish. Orange Julius is more of a smoothie - egg whites and orange juice, really is how they started. Dole whip is most definitely a soft serve ice cream/yogurt/sorbet. Now, as far as trans fats go - I'm TERRIFIED of the nutritional information on a Mickey Bar. Have you seen the lable for, say, Magic Shell ice cream coating? Eeek. That stuff is like 60% shortening. But still oh so good ;)

HalfDozen, I guess I would be in big trouble if I admitted that I finally tried the French Toast Loaf and was less than thrilled with it. You may have my share, with my blessings, just please stay away from MY Mickey Bars!! :lmao:

We left SSR yesterday morning and stopped by to use our last three snacks. We got rice krispie bars and in walking around kept seeing things with a sign under them that said snack option. We were kinda comfused at such a selection and when we checked out the lady started naming things that they had addded as snacks. Now we know why. :cool1:

Does anyone know if the frozen coffee slushie thingie from Animal Kingdom and Epcot stands are included?

(Hope so, :coffee: )

This all is great news!

I wonder if the yummy Funnel cake at Sleepy Hollow is included...menu says it's $3.29 with just powdered sugar.

Caramel popcorn $3.99 Maybe??

Would be GREAT!
