New ones or new seasons, rate them from 1 (just plain awful) to 10 (the best of the best).

Well first we have BONES. It was on Fox last night from 8 to 9. It started off pretty good but, for me, spiraled downward from there. There were several things about that just didn't work.

The lead character, Emily Deschanel, sounded like she had marbles in her mouth. Give this girl some diction lessons!

Music to sort body part with. What was up with that?? While I like bizarre things, that was a bit over the top even for me.

Too many repetitive lines. I think it was the "I don't understand" line that started to annoy me. She must have been living in a vacuum for the past 10 years.

The Virgo meter only registers a 5 on the 1 to 10 scale. DH and I may give it one more week to improve but that's all.

HOUSE

What a joy it is to watch this show. Hugh Laurie is more fun than a barrel of Mickeys. But it's more than that. The show is packed with interesting and intelligent actors. Top that with fascinating story lines week after week. It just doesn't get any better on the small screen.

Line of the week slightly paraphrased: To his 3 younger colleagues, "Don't worry children. Mommy and I are fighting but we still love you." :rotfl:

The Virgo meter went off the scale and exploded like the finale at the end of Wishes. Guess that gives House a 10++++++++++++++++++++

I was also not too impressed with BONES hope it gets better. I feel like I missed the first show, and this WAS the first show! :confused3 Dr. House is THE BOMB! I recently saw my MD about a month ago, and told him, to his face, he reminds me of HIM! :earseek: He got a big smile on his face and said: "Thanks for the compliment!" :rotfl: By the way, Hugh is from England or Scotland originally, and has a HEAVY accent when not in "character." ;)

Bones: 3 It was tooo unbelievable. Acting was not good. We gave up on it and watched House.

This was the first time we had watched House. 7 We enjoyed it and have set it up on our DVR. It is prety unbelievable too, but the acting is so much better.

I was not impressed with Bones either. The dialogue seemed rather forced and as already mentioned too much repitition, and often too much pause for effect. Definitely did not get a real introduction to the characters, maybe what we're missing is supposed to be revealed in future episodes. I'll give it another couple of weeks I guess but it does not look very promising (next weeks episode did not look interesting at all to me but I'll hang in there and give it a fair shake).

Same gripe with Bones. Emily has the same exact voice as her sister, Zooey. Tell us 10 more times how you relate better to the dead than the living. Alright, we got it. The only good thing about the show was that David Boreanaz is starting to look hot again. He lost some the weight he had put on towards the end of Angel and finally ditched that old man hairstyle.

Supernatural: I was pretty pleasantly surprised at this one. Enjoyed it and will continue to watch. Added it to my season pass.

I also set up to tivo the first episodes of Head Cases, How I Met Your Mother, and Kitchen Confidential. Not too excited about any of them though.

I completely agree with your assessment of House. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 20. It's so good. Gotta love a sharp-tongued man.

And kudos to LL Cool J for his portrayal of the death-row inmate. I have completely other thoughts about him  other than a bad guy, so last night's episode was very refreshing.

Ahhh.. House! My favorite! I was so glad for house to start back up Tuesday night! I LOVE that show! I could watch it all day! It is so well thought out. Hugh Laurie....oh how I love that man! :cool1:  He is so funny! His comments always kill me. DH and I are both very into this show and hope there are many many many more seasons to come!

Reunion- blah. Interesting concept, but the bad dialogue and ridiclous drama killed it for me.

Prison Break - only saw one episode but I liked it!

House - not new, but I half watched the show. I've heard such good things about it, but didn't really enjoy it much. I'll have to give it my full attention to have a better idea about it.

Other new shows I plan on seeing:
Invasion
Surface
Supernatural

Reunion was a bit over-hyped imho... presented as a 9 but was really a 4 or 5. Bones was okay, maybe a 6. It kept me interested and the characters were somewhat likeable. House is a great show, so anything less than a 9 would have been surprising from them.

Threshold starts tomorrow, and How I Met Your Mother and Surface start on Monday, along with the return of Medium.

Absolutely LOVED House! I didn't find this series until halfway through the first season. It's now tied with CSI as my favorite. Funny story - We bought the series on DVD and were watching it a few episodes at a time. We noticed that during the show our cockatiels Piper, Tweezer, Aretoo and Deetoo were sitting together and all of a sudden started whistling a song, all together, in perfect harmony with each other. We had no idea what it was until we got to the end of the episode of House that we were watching. It was the music they play at the closing credits for House!! You normally don't hear it when it is shown on regular tv because the stations do voice overs for news and stuff while the credits role but these little buggers (The Backstreet Boids :rotfl: ) picked it up after a few episodes. :teeth:

Bones - I so wanted to love that show based on my love of CSI. I was disappointed though. The acting was poor, the plot was poorly executed, even the camera work was sub par by standards set today. The storyline was predictable - they need to watch more CSI and learn how to keep the audience in suspense over "whodoneit". I'll give it one or two more episodes in hope that it will improve but I'm not holding my breath

Reunion - Another one I so wanted to like but I knew it would be unlikely when all the reviews said the only good thing about the show was the music.
Same issue as Bones - poor acting, unbelievable storylines - please, the cops didn't ask who was driving the car at the scene of the accident? To me, this is a Lifetime movie spread out into 20 way too long episodes.

Haven't watched Prisonbreak yet but DH Matt is hooked :)

Scale of 1 - 10

Prison break - 8

Bones - 3

Reunion - 3

Rome (on HBO) - 9

House - 7

Head Cases - 3

We missed Bones, its on DVR though, just haven't watched it yet. WE actually saw the last 10 minutes and weren't that impressed.

House....I just love that show! He is sooo funny.
Partypants, who knew. LOL

I agree. House is a great show.

I can't wait for the new season of 24 to start. IMO, its the best show on TV.

FYI, season 1 of 24 is currently being shown on A&E every Monday. They're doing 4 episodes at a time. The first four were on this past Monday. It is shown from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again from 2 to 6 p.m.

I think once they finish with season 1 they'll continue on with season 2 and so on. It's really fun to see how this show has evolved over the years.

24 on A&E

Wow, I am in the wrong crowd.
I liked Bones a lot, especially the chemistry between the dr and the fbi agent. I look forward to next week's episode.

I never saw House, and don't have much interest in it.

Prison Break is great so far.

Bones was OK - not great, but next week's episode looks promising, so I'm giving it another shot. :)

Taped House, haven't watched it yet - but it's my favorite show from last season, so I have no worries. :)

I want to like Bones because I love the books that the series is based on. I will give it a few weeks to hit its stride before I give up. Definitely room for improvement. But I love CSI, but as I watch those first several episodes of CSI, it is pretty painful until they hit their stride!

Reunion, I will probably ending up watching because I graduated from HS in 1986, so I kinda want to see how it plays out! But not a great start.

Bones has turned into a great show, one of our favorites, and the best new show of the year. It has even grown audience since losing its coveted post-AI slot in the schedule. This week, Bones was rewarded with an early renewal for next season, with a full season order. Fox has got itself another winner!
