New Show at Polynesian

Just off the phone with CM for dining and he said starting 2/25/2003, the Polynesian Luau will be replace with "Disney's Spirit of Aloha" featuring Lilo and Stich (sp).

Well there were 30 seats left for the 5:15pm show on Tuesday, 5/27.
We will be there - so now there are 26 seats left on 5/27 for 5:15.
I also was able to save 10% with my DC card.

I was told no show on Sundays and Mondays.

Also - seats are first come - first serve basis.
So it does not affect the day you make the PS - just how early you get
to the Cove for the Spirit of Aloha.

Also - some new non-alcoholic 'cute' drinks added to menu per the CM.

I hope Lilo & Stitch are now part of the show.

I was happy to be able to get a PS so close to May.

Anyone else going to the 5/27 5:15 pm Spirit of Aloha show ?

yesdisneyfool, did the CM tell you that Lilo and Stitch were going to be at the new show? I spoke with a CM around 20 minutes ago asking about the new Polynesian show and I was told that it is going to be hosted by Auntie Winnie and there is music from Polynesia and Lilo and Stitch, the CM specifially said Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride, but no characters. Did the CM at disney dining tell me the wrong thing? I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm also really interested in any info on the new show. I know that they are "soft opening" it on Feb 19-22 and grand opening Feb 25. I'm thinking of switching around some PS's for my trip on the 17th thru 24th of this month. Really interested in the Lilo and Stitch connection - my kids would absolutely love that (they just watched the video AGAIN this afternoon!). Any info would be SOOO appreciated.

Hey I got some info mixed up. After talking to MS I found out that the hostess is Auntie Wini, who invites all of the children in the neighborhood over for a celebration featuring the music and dances of the cultures of Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand and Hawaii while guests dine on a feast inspired by the flavors of Polynesia.

I thought they were featuring Lilo & Stitch but are not. Auntie Wini is a character they have developed specifically for this role in the dinner show.

Dinner is a combination of traditional music from Polynesia, with new music featuring “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch, the animated summer hit of 2002 (this is what I must have mixed up) Dances from throughout Polynesia are showcased including several new hulas created exclusively for Disney.

I didn't ask about the price but it’s presented twice nightly at 5:15 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday only.

Sorry for the mix up but it sounds like a really good refreshing new show.

I was on the phone with CM Dinning. They are going to have two shows 5.15 PM AND 8.00 PM (no Sun-Mon). The shows run for two hours. The menu is the same as before. This is not a PS. Reservations are PRE-PAID by credit card at the time of booking.
The menu:
Tropical Appetizers (coconut banana bread and Pineapple)
Mixed Green Salad
Lanai-roasted Chicken
Island Pork Ribs
South Seas Shrimp Fried Rice
Fresh Sauteed Vegetables medley
Prices: $49.80 Adult $24.80 Children
This can be booked up to 2 years before.

It is not pre-paid. It is just like HDDR which is reserved via credit card but your card is not charged until you buy your tickets on-site (or if you're a no-show).
