I am also going to post this on the Theme Park board but thought I would post here also because of FW.

We did the Around the World Segway Tour at Epcot last April and loved it. My boyfriends son (16 at the time) loved it also but the CM also mentioned an off road tour at WL coming up. We just went to WDW two weeks ago. We did the Around the World Tour again and I had booked the new trial tour at FW but then changed our minds and only did the one at Epcot.

My question is, has anyone done the one at FW and if so, how was it? I love doing the tour at Epcot and touring around WS. It sounds kind of dull to tour around the trails at FW and just see all the different cabins and trailers. I know the "off road" experience would be fun but I just wanted to find out if anyone did the new tour and how it was. We are going back in November and if this tour gets good reviews we might do it.

Thanks,
Linda

Hi Linda- We've done the Epcot tour 2 times and will be doing the Ft. Wilderness tour in 3 weeks. I can't wait. My husband just loves the Segway tours. I'll let you know what it was like when we get home- Sue

Thanks so much for your reply. I look forward to hearing your review on the new tour. Don't know how your ankles are - but after two hours mine were killing me. We enjoyed the tour so much though that it didn't matter. We saw the off road Segways while we were in the training area and they seemed cool - fatter tires - so you should have fun.

My husband and son just did it july 3. They LOVE the Epcot tour, and were really looking forward to this new one with the cool Segways.

Well, your last paragraph sums it up. It got boring pretty quickly and there wasn't much off road fun terrain. They did the pathway between WL and Ft Wilderness and not much more wild than that. They prefer to stick with the Epcot tour for our Thanksgiving trip so that's what I booked for them.

I will ask DH tonight if they actually did any real thru the woods stuff or if it was all paved - that's what it sounded like & while they had fun they weren't thrilled with it. Not as much fun as they expected it to be.

Thanks so much for your reply. That is kind of what I thought. We stayed at the WL a few years ago and walked over to FW on a path. I imagine this is what they used. I booked both tours - One for June 30 (FW) and one on July 4 (Epcot). I was going to make it a surprise but then figured I would ask what they wanted to do (as it gets expensive for 4 people). We decided on the Epcot one and if the two 18 year olds wanted to do the tour at FW there was one schedued for July 6 that had openings. I figured we could give it a shot and if they decided they wanted to do it I could call last minute and see if there were any openings. We all LOVED the Epcot one and by the time July 6 came around we had all been going for 6 days straight and they decided not to do it.

Hey Linda!
If you go over to the Fort Wilderness/Camping board, you'll find a thread or two with discussion of the new segway.

Sandy :)

Thanks - I'll check out the other sites also. I'm a little sorry we did not send the two 18 year olds to do it just so they could experience it. Maybe next time when we head down there.
