Anyone at MK or Epcot today, we'd love to hear your opinions on the new security — pictures if possible as well!

definitely an improvement, the only bad thing I see is that people boarding the parking lot tram now have to wait in the sun, during the longer, busier days in the summer months that's going to be hot But other than that I think it's great. I can see people complaining about theming especially at the ContemporaryI imagined it would be like this. I think it's wonderful honestly.

they have had a separate line with one metal detector for the walkers from Contemporary for a while now, it's right at the end of the walkway, close to MKThe pictures look promising. I really like the idea that they are spreading out the security, I think it will definitely make things more efficient. No report yet on what is happening to walkers from Contemporary, I'll be interested to see a report on that. I'm assuming they have a single checkpoint set up somewhere as you approach the MK gates.

Less back up then there will be at MK.Looking at the pic of the GF it looks like there will def be a backup into the hotel during the busy times and Holiday Season.
I agree, would rather be in line at the GF than at the entrance to MK.Less back up then there will be at MK.
I'm not a local but if I was going to Epcot I wouldn't park at the TTC to do so. If I go to MK first and then Epcot later I'm going to have to be checked twice. It's always been that way. You get checked each time you enter a park unless you have the express bus.My guess is that security will change for monorail to EPCOT very soon if not with this initial change. It seems that Disney will avoid double-checking guests this way. Ensuring guests checked at TTC before boarding and then offloading directly into a secure area at EPCOT shouldn't be too difficult; however, they would have to set up checks at EPCOT for riders to board which would take some work.

Exactly. As long as Disney resists the temptation to cheap out and have all the checkpoints properly manned....
