I am on camper number 2 and although I like what I have, I'm thinking of going to another type camper. I had a Tail-Gator toyhauler 1st and then last year I bought a Keystone Hobbi which is also a toyhauler.

The newest camper I'm looking at is a used Four Winds Fun Mover. It's a Class C 27' and has a garage in the back instead of a bedroom. I have my own business doing air testing on smokestacks so I'm thinking this would possibly work to my advantage because I could have my camper/toyhauler for my FW habit and when we go 4 wheeling I have my garage. Then I can also use it to haul my equipment around and quit giving Holiday Inn $100 a night. Most of the places I work at I can stay on their property and hook up there. I will of course consult my accountant to see what portion I can write off and all that.

I've seen many posts from people who are unsure about going from trailer to driveable and kinda confused. This is about the best camper forum I've come across so I figured many of ya'll will tell me the pros and cons. Also does any of our friends here have experience with these Fun Movers. It's a 1998 and only has 21k miles and the genny has 250 hours. I think the price is fair and the unit has been very well taken care of. What all should I have checked before I sign the dotted line? Thanks to all in advance.

1 more thing. What do most Class C's with a Triton V10 get for mileage or is that a dumb question lol. I get around 10-11 with my tt hooked to my Duramax Diesel.

21k miles is not a lot. Check to see how old the tires are if they are more than5 years old time for new ones. Did it sit a long time? People with toyhauler carry a lot of exra weight so check the brakes. what kind of Genny? 250hr it not a lot if it was maintained.

The tire thing was my friend Marks' 1st ?

He bought a 29' Class C and kept it 2 years and had a lot of tire probs. He said the tires will have a date on them and most likely will need to be replaced. The whole unit looks like it was hardly used. The dealer has offered for me to call the previous owner. I bought my 1st 2 campers from them so I feel like they will shoot me straight. The genny is an Onan 4kw. How often should it have been maintained. I feel like if I get this thing for 20k I'll be ok. I see others for around 30k but I'm only willing to go 20k. I had a friend who had a Class C and she ran the heck out of her genny and I think she changed the oil twice. Probably by the time she sold it, it had around 1k hours on it and it still ran great with no probs.

Onan recommends 2 hrs./month for my 4kw at 1/2 power usage and that is on our '94. Oil change is once/year along with filter. The more it is used the better it likes it.

I think I've seen you over on rv.net. I have a friend that has a fun mover and they love it. We really wanted a toy hauler so bad when we bought our camper but they were just to expensive...one day.

Do they have the 27' or the 31' Terri? The one I'm looking at is a 27'. Of course that's 4' shorter but the only difference I see is instead of a couch you can only fit a chair behind the passenger seat. Like I said, I've had 2 toy haulers but they are trailers. The thing that worries me of course is it breaking down and how much more insurance is.

Yes I go on Rv.Net as well. Not too often but I do go on to see what FW info is on there.

Those fun movers look nice. Before you go any further call and see how much it is to insure it. When we were considering a MH I could handle the upfront cost but I got sticker shock on how much full insurance coverage would be. Also, what will you use as a dingy? Or will you need one where you go? We ended up going with a new Cedar Creek Fifth Wheel and Duramax/Allison.

My friends have a 31 ft. and I made a comment today about the insurance for it and she said it was sky high, I wanted to ask her how much it was but was to embarrassed to...it is beautiful inside.

I pay less in insurance for my '06 motorhome then I do for my son's '04 Neon. I went through Good Sam which is GMAC. $1200 per year with the five year replacement rider.

Not a bad rate but when compared to a towable RV at $250 or less a year it is a big difference. I am not saying that it should not be a lot more, there is more expense to insure.

I was having the hardest time trying to figure it out.:scared:

The biggest difference between the insurance on a drivable and a towable would probably be the liability insurance. Since on a towable the liability insurance is with the tow vehicle, to compare apples to apples you'd need to factor in that insurance, too. We find our insurance on our MH to be not too bad.
